Mortgage on Flat where bedrooms separated by common landing

I think you're all missing the potential of this flat - 1 bed apartment with separate mother-in-law guest suite! If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I've had a little look and it seems they've had a rethink on this block.
Previously they had been advertised as 2 bed flats with 2nd bedroom separate. It's due to the shape of the building - the separate room was a few steps up or down from the main flat, therefore off the landing on a different level. They must have failed to sell, either that or nobody could get a mortgage on them! As now I can only find them advertised as separate studio flats at low market value. A 1 bed flat in the area would be way above this, but take a look at the floor plan on this listing - the toilet is separate to the rest of the flat/studio/room! And it seems to have sold to someone

According to Zoopla the freehold for all 10 flats at 1A sold for £750,000 in December 2015. It's quite a strange layout.lincroft1710 wrote: »I think you're all missing the potential of this flat - 1 bed apartment with separate mother-in-law guest suite!
That's almost what one of the listings has said...
"Unusually the second bedroom is privately accessed through the immaculate internal hallway, boasting its own en-suite shower room and WC, making it ideal for visiting relatives or someone in need of their own private space.":footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Surely it's just a landing with the flat door on one side and another door, leading to this room, on the other side. Presumably there are other flats, or stairs, further up the landing which is why the landing can't be closed off.
Well it's mysterious because I've never seen anything similar to it and find it a really strange concept.0 -

Top of stairs straight into bedroom 1 (no landing) bedroom 1 leads into bedroom 2.
Front door, there is no front garden it's just off the pavement - not the problem as many houses like it but there is no passageway, straight in living room.
Mine and next door was split into 2 houses I believe many years ago, which is why can't have a water meter as it's shared0 -

The thread of curiosity...
Makes me feel better about our house. Used to be two miners cottages, has guest room on ground floor, kitchen and living room on 1st (with entrance to living room via 1st floor level conservatory), bedroom, bathroom and study 2nd floor! Garden is terraced on 4 levels too...0
