I guess it would be similar to using an outbuilding as an office. I would just expect the bedroom to have the same level of security as the rest of the flat. In some ways it would half your burglary risk as they can only get into half your flat...
However I don't think Social Services would be very impressed if you had small children in a separate bedroom/ flat!0 -
Surely on the plus side - if you wanted to have a lodger you could rent it as a self-contained bedroom. Ikea do those small kitchen units that you could squeeze in although I'm not sure you'd be able to wash in the sink!0
