Just pointing out the earning potential of the property.... :)
  • I'd second the idea of valuing as a one bed then thinking "how much more would I pay for this as additional storage".

After all if you went to view a one bed flat and it had a bonus storage room, you'd probably be happy.

Wonder if the room could be sold to an adjoining flat.
    Been away for a while.

yep, i would love to see what this one looks like out of curiosity. Also i would be interested to see how easy it would be to get home contents insurance on something like this if one of the rooms is separate to the main flat
    MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..
  • Not sure what's so mysterious about it.

Surely it's just a landing with the flat door on one side and another door, leading to this room, on the other side. Presumably there are other flats, or stairs, further up the landing which is why the landing can't be closed off.

The second bedroom does have a window....

The current owner was a cash buyer, no idea about previous owners...

No reply over on the mortgage board, where is a mortgage expert when you need one, would be nice to get some professional advice just confirm that I should walk away....

    You should walk away.

Through the "bedroom" door and into the exit corridor.

I've had a little look and it seems they've had a rethink on this block.
Previously they had been advertised as 2 bed flats with 2nd bedroom separate. It's due to the shape of the building - the separate room was a few steps up or down from the main flat, therefore off the landing on a different level. They must have failed to sell, either that or nobody could get a mortgage on them! As now I can only find them advertised as separate studio flats at low market value. A 1 bed flat in the area would be way above this, but take a look at the floor plan on this listing - the toilet is separate to the rest of the flat/studio/room! And it seems to have sold to someone
