  • Sian - question has already been answered but yes, you can apply straight away.

I was rejected about a week ago and assumed I couldn't reapply. But emailed on monday and have just received new form.

  • Have finished my second test!

I think it was a lot easier than my first. My first had 2 really complex maths questions in it, to have 2 outr of only 10 questions seemed unfair to me. Also one question was how do you make a screwdriver - does this mean the drink or the tool?

Anyway, I really feel my second attempt was a lot better. Every answer was between 150-153 characters, some of the answers on my first form were only 130. Whilst reviewing my first form I also found a spelling error which probably didn't help.

Anyway, am very tired, have done my best and really hope I get a result.

5 more minutes of browsing for me then its bedtime!

I found the email about what to send back really confusing as well. In the end I emailed back a copy of the contract with my signature typed in the box, and a scan of a printout of the contract with a genuine signature on it. This seemed to keep them happy as the next email with the details about my SR arrived 10 minutes later!

I have received my application forms for AQA, my intention is to top up my income by doing this work for an hour each night.

They ask for two references, I am employed full time and I don't want my employer to know I am applying for this. Does anyone know whether they take up the references?

Not as far as I can tell - I think it's just to discourage spurious applications. Nothing to stop you putting your previous two employers before your current one - one of my references is a company I worked for 7 years, 5 jobs back and nobody has ever questioned it.

These days references seem to have gone out of the window, as all a company will ever do is confirm start and finish dates, in fear of being sued for defamation :D
  • Thanks very much for your answers - much appreciated. Did you let them know that it was your second time of applying or Not?

Thanks very much for all your help with this
  • Sian - I ticked 'yes' on the box asking of I'd applied before. I thought they must have a record of previous applicants. Plus, most people seem to get in on a 2nd or third try so there doesn't seem to be an issue with having previously failed.

Hi, I've been accepted and want to return the contract but am not clear what is meant eg am I right in thinking that even if I email back the contract, I still need to post the page with my signature separately? But if I was doing that, why not post the whole thing? It also says they 'would not recommend doing so at the moment due to on going postal strikes' - so which one should I do?

    Confused!

Sign the front page, scan it, and email it back - that's all they want. Or, fill it in, email it back without signature, and then send a signed first page in the post too.
