  • I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to hear back after taking the test and returning the application form? I returned mine on Saturday morning and havent heard anything since!

Just been accepted by AQA! Did the test (number 6 including "Daddy or Chips?") a few days ago, and have just got the acceptance email back again. All I need to do now is figure out how to get broadband on the train between Milton Keynes and London, and I'll be able to pay for my commute as I go...

Tips (at least worked for me)

    1) Read ALL of the instructions - they're not rocket science but it says answers will be marked down for spelling and punctuation so pay extra attention to these.

    2) Use the answer limit - all of mine were between 144 and 153. Take an extra 5 minutes at the end to check.

    3) Almost all of my answers had a useful "extra" fact on the end.

Best of luck to anyone else trying...

I have my induction at 3pm - i just read through all the guidelines a few times, gotta log on at 3 and then be shown around the system - fairly simple think - il let u know hopw i get on
  • Hi

I had my induction last night. It lasted about 40 minutes. Instructions were copied and pasted into the Yahoo messenger box. Just how to use the KES. All I had to do was type Ok after each one. You get to answer one question, change your password, put in your bank details. Then you are made a trainee on your account and let loose to answer 30 questions. You have a week to do it.

Nothing to worry about. Nice to see the money add up right away :T . I asked if your contract was terminated if you did badly after the first review. The follow up email said it takes two consecutive poor reviews.

I am sure they understand that it would take some time to become efficient at it.

Good luck to all who have applied.
  • Hi

I am with AQA also. I have done my first review and am now 'free to go'. I can't actually do any during the week as I use a shared computer and there is some issue with the ports so have to do all my AQAing on the weekend.

With my first review I actually scored 78% overall which is technically a fail as you need 80%. I thought this would mean that I would have to do another review. I was asked to discuss it with SR on yahoo. When I got into my discussion she just told me to slow down and I was doing really well. I asked when I needed to have another review and she just said that it would be roughly every 2 months.

Moral of the story is don't get too hung up on it and relax! :D

Sounds like your bank is trying to flog you products. Your parents home content insurance should cover your computer. If your computer is cheap, it's not worth paying for insurance really.

I don't think anyone needs a 'business account' to do AQA work.
I've done self-employed work before and used my personal bank account. My bank has never contacted me about needing a business account or more insurance. I also know people who have their own business and just use a personal account as the business account offers them little more service. They are not obliged to get a business acount.

I've not told my bank and frankly have no intention of doing so! It's just the insurance company who seem to be not playing ball. It is just the computer they have said they will not cover (as it would be used for business purposes) but I'll try and see if I can get more info on this soon.

You should try again! My test had a few questions that were impossible to answer - without being a mathematical genius. But it's about answering as best you can - so give closely related facts etc.

Already tried twice though and failed! Might try again in a while but bit disheartened!

yeah induction was jsut being guided around the system - main thing is to use the correct formats of dates etc and just double check ur spelling and everything

Iv just done my first 15 questions - skips rate at about 40% and hard rate about 35% so not doing too bad - gonna crack on and finish em tonight

    I didn't get in unfortunately :(.
However, I think probably was a little ambitious of me taking something else on, I need the money but not any more stress!!
