  • I still haven't heard back from them. I sent my application form and answers back on Friday. I think I'll chase it up.

  • My skip rate is currently 47%, which I'm a bit worried about. Don't really want it to be that at the end of the month. My hard rate is only 10% too, which is 2% above minimum but I'm sure I can get it higher. I have only done a few hours over the past week, might have a longer session this weekend to try to get it up.

Moving on quickly from the "double entendre" at the end there... :p there is a spreadsheet called Skip rate calculator in the Files/Tools Tips News section of the IBR group which helps you calculate how many hard questions you need to answer to get your skip rate down.

    hope that helps

    Oo-er!

Thanks for the tip. I did know about the skip rate calculator. I have to answer 50 without skipping to get down to 45% - easier said than done! :)

I'm trying to stick to hard questions until I get it down, but when there are 100+ other questions waiting and I'm logged on it's all too tempting to start answering.

Hi, could any of you currently working for AQA let me know if they think broadband is absolutely essential? It says that it's needed in the vacancies advert but as I can't (totally aggravatingly) get broadband where I live I wonder if that would definitely exclude me or if maybe the system wouldn't work without it - if it's just a bit slower then I'd have to live with that and wouldn't be a great problem.

    Thanks

    Liz

Hi Liz, I currently work for AQA and personally I would say broadband is a must. Not so much for the system to actually run but for the fact that it sometimes hangs on me and I have an 8mb connection. Whether this is down to the software or connection though is debateable I'd guess, I'm sure a slow connection won't help though. Apart from anything else, there are times when your researching a hard question where you might stuggle to get everything done in time due to the lack of speed you would have to hunt through pages etc. That's not set in stone by any means though it's just my opinion. You could always mail them and ask. Hope this helps.
