Afternoon! Glad to see many of you all well! Feels like a real winters day today which I love. DS is out of sorts so having a good sleep and then we are going for a walk to fed the ducks, love the way days like this feel.
Pigpen another one here with a hangover
Lil me Glad last night was okay
Rach enjoy looking at weddings rings, hope you and OH sorted out the Denby thing, a local factory outlet has a lovley shop - not sure if they do wedding lists or not but maybe your OH would feel better if things were discounted?
Left DH to sort DS out this morning, had a lie in till 9 but snuck back to bed for an hour when DS had a nap and finally just starting to shake that yuck feeling. Did a quick fly around upstairs earlier, bathrooms done and everywhere else dusted, dusted and tied downstairs, ran hoover round, dogs throws shaken out and on line airing, WM been on and pegged out and all kitchen surfaces wiped and floor in there washed and buffed up. Once DS went back to bed we've sat and reworked out our budget. Just need to go through the cupboards and freezers and work out a meal plan for the month to try and spend as little as possible. Picked up loads of yellow stickered stuff so need to work it all in.
Right, will go and put a jumper on as its chilly here as had all the windows opening giving everywhere an airing. Enjoy your Saturday folks!Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!
Baby on board!:D0 -
Phew, I'm tired... but feeling pleased with myself!! :-)) (really gotta figure out how to do quotes & proper moving smiley people in my posts...)
I am looking forward to being sparkly-warkly, lol!!! Have got my Fresh Roses Yankee candle burning so it certainly smells lovely here....
I have heard of a few cases of pneumonia too - don't know why its suddenly getting people... It was (is) not nice :-( Just sitting down now with a cuppa and taking a break for a while. Must phone Champneys & see if I can haggle a deal with them!!
Went to Mr T's for a few bits this morning,, got a lovely new doormat with daisies on it & that will inspire me to sweep porch area & wash down front door tomorrow maybe.
More stunningly DD1 has been really helpful today without me having to ask her to help.... (this the child that vanishes the split second there is a mention of housework). Obviously wants something!! She has helped move a pine merchants chest back into the newly carpeted hall & we have stuck up some mirror tiles above it, a new clock, vase of flowers, a lamp & put the phone & a notepad/pens on there. Want to get a new keyrack and pop it there too. The aim is to have a nice neat/organised area that looks good & will develop along the lines of "launch pads" which is something I saw on another website (?organised home maybe). I wanted to do that first cos I feel at least if that is all done, it makes me feel better & I can tackle everything else bit by bit. And it does look nice :-)
DD1 has also phoned her father & asked him if he will take her to do a boot sale next weekend - so that will inspire me through the week to have a real clear-out. I can't stand all this stuff everywhere collecting dust - am just going to keep a few more special knick-knacks & be ruthless!!!
DD's 2 & 3 being shrieky & stroppy so I am taking to ignoring that behaviour & refusing to do anything for them..... Just printed out chore charts from chartjungle & also some flylady stuff. I find being able to tick stuff off real/virtual lists really does make things easier/clearer for me.
Hope all your days are going well & thanks again for the welcomes/motivation!

:coffee: on the tea this time, Just back from town. Didnt spend too much at all as nothing really inspired me and Saturdays in our shops are like in a jumble sale, I'll miss going in during the week now. Got DS more socks and OH 2 more pairs glasses as he broke another pair last night. Luckily with his job, he seems to be able to see better with the cheap ones then the £200 ones from opticians, he's forever leaving them at scenes of RTA's or in patients houses.
Well just had a text from him, bad news, had a phone call from customs and excise !!?? he's being taken to court for non payment of the overpaid tax credits we had! !!!!!!, you tell them your earnings, they work it out and pay you, then you spent it and they then tell you you owe them, and we only used to get £40 a month. They want somewhere between £200 and £400 cant remember exact figure, so he's told them he'd rather go to jail and live off his taxes for a while, he's paid enough £1300 for tax and NI last month.
Dont you just hate this country sometimes, makes me sick when they're talking of paying scroats 10% of the value of their houses for a deposit to buy if they stay out of trouble for 5 years. Honestly some people never earn a days pay or pay a penny in tax all their lives unyet good honest Fred Bloggs gets hammered and ends up getting poorer and further in debt. In OH's job he goes to people who've never worked and can still afford the 48" flat screen TV's and holidays all inclusive in the Caribbean and then have the cheek to call an ambulance because they want a sticky plaster    . Thank goodness we've started talking about retiring to Sunny Spain within the next few years (not that we have any savings, muggins will have to get a job to supplement his pension)
Sorry rant over. Better go flycleaning and get it out of my system.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Kaz, we have been overpaid by something like ££1300 over 4 years. They just take it back from each year's award. Taking you to court is a bit of a cheek is it not when they write off more than that from hundreds of people every year!0

kids paperwork from school is taking me forever. Have found out that DS1 and DS have a Friday inset end of November and DS3 has his on the Monday. Planning on going to centre parks and will just take DS3 out of school to con-incide with other's inset! We emptied the 20p jar which we have all been feeding for 3 years! It had £246.80 in not enough for centre parcs but about half. Need to look for a code and see what else we can sell on ebay and we will have made the diffence with any luck. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
poor you kaz - sounds like a worry you could do without.
we've had a good day so far. got up late and then walked into town along the seafront. looked at wedding rings and got prices so will go back and order soon. htink we're gonna stick with the little independent place where we got my ring. its nice to have personal service and use a family businessi am hvaing platinum and OH 18 carat white gold. he is a bit worried about wearing a ring as he's never worn any jewellery but thankfully he has not mentioned not having a ring (i'd like him to have one!)
had lunch at the mexican where we had our first date and then had a quick look in debenhams. OH has said yes to denbyi think he realised that its important to me to have nice stuff for once. its the main thing (apart from bedding and a food processor) that we'll have. i already have really good pans etc. am going to look into the factory outlets though and amazon does it too (they now do wedding lists!)
michelle - think i keep forgetting to say big congrats- really chuffed for you
right, i'm gonna enjoy time on the the internet whilst OH is watching the football.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Know what you mean especially when Gordon Brown was quoted as saying they were going to let people off paying back thousands. And they cant reduce the next years award as we're not entitled to any.
Well just picked DD up in time, just got to the house to hear her friends grandad just died suddenly so all a bit of a shock.
Oh and I feel sick as ate 3/4 of a bag of Haribo while sitting at computer -
DD now done the door slamming bit as I laughed at her make up so will probably find my tidying has been thrown all round the room in a tantrum.

Removes crayon stains from wallsDip a damp cloth in Bicarb and scrub the crayon
mark lightly to get rid of marks.
Thanks for that tried but didn't budge it, the crayon of course has to be dark blue.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0
