  • Hi lil'me & thank you for the welcome :-)

Yes, gotta start getting back on track somehow - it has made me feel that I need to look after myself a bit more - this weekend I am going to book at a couple of nights at Champney's or similar for the week after next, a chance for a bit of pampering & complete switching off before uni starts again. AT the moment I have no energy/enthusiasm for it (or much else) but I was told it will take a while to build back up my health properly - esp as I have been ill really since last Xmas, now that I look back.

My DD's are 15, 14 and just about to turn 11 (this IS the house of hormone!). They are supposed to each be responsible for a job, but then that seems to fall apart after a few days & I lose trakc. Then I end up nagging them to do it, then end up doing it myself, and they strop off... We have a lot of "attitude" going on as in "why should I do it"....

As for the pocket money their father (ex) has decided to give them £10 a week every week & dishes this out to them when he turns up with the maintenance on a Friday. I have said to him that they need to do chores to earn it first & it really doesn't help when he just dishes it out as they then have no incentive to help me, but he never listens.... (It's a long story that one..) I don't give them any in addition although I buy little odds & ends (ie a pack of sweets or a bottle of smoothie if I'm in Mr T's or Asda & feeling generous!). I don't top their phones up any more either as I said the money from their father can do that & also be a clothes allowance (though I buy essentials). I think perhaps me refusing to do anything that they ask me to do for them (ie a lift to the cinema etc) might be a way round the problem. Ie, you do something in the house, and I will do a favour for you.

I'll have a look at the chartjungle too in a minute thank you - I am a morning person so feel motivated at the moment to try and start getting organised, then I will have a doze this afternoon :-) I definitely need to have things stuck up on charts so we can all keep track.

Sounds like you are having an eventful life...I hope things get a little easier soon.

Edit: Thank you too Solway, yes I know it will start to come together quite quickly - I was doing so well before the summer with clearing out rubbish/charity shop stuff etc but it has gone backwards very rapidly! And everyone sounds very friendly so I thought I would take the plunge & join in! Looking forward to being here a lot more....

Have just copied and pasted this from a bicarb booklet downloaded from supercooks website:

    Removes crayon stains from walls
Dip a damp cloth in Bicarb and scrub the crayon
mark lightly to get rid of marks.

Might work for your car too.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Morning everyone

    Welcome Squiggly :)

Just dailies to do this weekend, nowt major, got the uniforms to put in the wash and a quick S&S and that'll be it, the house is looking clean, tidy and organised :j

Littley wet the bed again last night - that's twice in a row now and I'm not sure why as she's never done that before, she says nothing's bothering her  maybe she's just a bit stressed going back to school/new class etc, or she's that completely zonked that she's not waking up. So anyway, all those lovely clean sheets I put on yesterday will have to be changed lol it's a lovely sunny day again so no biggie.

Other than teenie I'll have the house to myself till tomorrow evening, and he's hardly ever in lol, Em's going to her nanas this morning until tomorrow so - yay me!

Have a nice weekend folks and don't work too hard x

Oh and I meant to say yesterday but completely forgot Rach congrats on getting published - way to go gal :T

    Morning all

I haven't any time to fly today, but thought I'd pop on and say good luck to all those that are! I was supposed to get up at 6am this morning to fit in some flying, but hit snooze and slept until 8 :( Wish I could get up in the mornings!

Unfortunately was then a bit ill so have had to rest before leaving the house in er 5 mins!! Out all day today, working at an event tomorrow and then back in the evening. So will catch up and see if I can be inspired to do some flying then.

I moved house 6 months ago and still haven't unpacked - I really need some flying inspiration!

Take care all and thanks for your welcome messages :)

    morning all

we were talking late last night but i'm still annoyingly awake now. am sitting in bed with laptop but will try and doze again in a bit.

we're meant to be getting wedding rings today, but i think will end up just looking as OHs new 0% card hasn't come yet. he said i should just get his off the internet, but that feels a bit funny to me. i'd like mine from the jewellers where we got my engagement ring.

anyway, only dailies for me today. trying to keep it tidy when OH is here is much harder, partly cos of two people in a space usually for one and partly cos i relax more then! hmmm, am hungry now so might have to get a drink at the very least.

I'm shattered. Been up since 8 and have only slobbed out on sofa reading paper. Was tired when I came in from work last night (and only did 3 days) so only did tea and then watched a bit of TV which is where I fell asleep until OH woke me up and told me it was bed time!

Today is just me and DD and I thought I was going to have a battle to get her to do her room but it was done when I came in from work yesterday. OH said she did it and he mopped floor as doogie had weed in there but I think he did it all. Less for me to do anyway. DS is at his dads and promised to do his room before he went but hasnt (unlike him) but ex did pick him up an hour early.

Once I've eaten and showered think I might head into town as DS needs more socks (he couldnt find any to go to his dads so took odd ones that are waiting for the matching one to appear) then come back and tackle outstanding stuff from list.

To all those needing hugs especially lilme :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Lilme - we have guppies that breed all the time, I think they are one of the few fish that carry their babies rather than lay eggs. Our tank would be overrun with them but we have a shark and I think he has a belly full every so often which keeps the numbers down. If its a new tank they take a while to settle down, ours took a few months of repeat testing and adding stuff to the water. We dont get any dead fish now we just have ones that disappear (sharky again!). We also had a problem with snails that came in on the plants but we sorted that by getting a clown loach that eats snails.

Gotta get food now I think.

    Catch ya all later

    Morning all!!!

Things are still a tip here, but the baby's asleep at the mo, so I think I'll have a 30 minute run around after I've posted. ;)

We have a cat arriving soon :j ! I'm excited - it's the first pet I've had as an adult. I always thought it was too much of a responsibility until now, then I realised I had two children...not likely that life'll be any less of a responsibility in the next 18 years! :rotfl:

She's a black and white kitten from a litter upstairs and we're calling her Lola. Owen chose it, if she'd been a boy, we were going to call her Charlie. Can you guess what his favourite programme is? I've totally splurged for her arrival. We have a three tier cat habitat with a hammock, a washable house for her to sleep in and today we're going to get a water fountain for her to drink from. Since all of the health professionals say not to spoil you children, I'm going to spoil my cat instead! :D

Love sonic lil_me, only just seen the pics, I love hoglets.

Welcome to all newcomers and big wave to all regulars. x

Currently on cuppa number 2.. feeling a bit sick and SO hot!!!! Self inflicted so no sympathy required.. I need liquid to stop the head banging as well.. THEN I am parcelling ebay gibble (18 things), sending hubby to the shop for wood and paint and getting this lot posted, wonder if I can get him to go collect my parcels too!!!.. I didn't get up to get the pinks to dance class as I am not sure if they are back this week or next Saturday. I need a tank for Sammy (the snail) as well.. and I need to add decoration to my PINK nails.. oh I need to add a repaint for the 14th as week so I'll phone about that later. It is my cousins fiancées hen night next Saturday.. more beer!! lol
