Been to viewing, I love the space downstairs, upstairs would take some working round, bad news is it needs quite a few repairs and unsure if landlord will do them. There is a heating pipe leaking which has ruined carpets then holes in walls, doors etc, basically unloved. Have contacted the estate agent who are going to contact the landlord and let me know. So so far it's a no until we hear back. Went to have a look where another one was we seen advertised in agency, just to see what the place was like from the outside, BAD area, lots of boarded up houses etc.

Managed to borrow a CCTV camera to see what the pictures are like, not bad actually so we're going to get one next week

I haven't hear from grannynise either but she does work in education so possibly why.

    Hope everyone is well :)
One day I might be more organised...........

The leaking pipe would HAVE to be fixed irrespective of anything else.. the landlord may not actually be aware of that!! Holes in walls will fill without too much hassle.. the doors would need to be changes probably.. but it depends on how much you feel that would bother you living there.. obviously the damaged doors downstairs could initially be switched with upstairs undamaged ones and sooner or later doors turn up in a skip.. ;) We got a lot of ours from freecycle.

    Hello all,

Not much to report. House is still a mess, but christmas shopping is well under way. Surely that counts towards FLYing?

Baby crying again, back later x

Pigpen I know what you're saying, oh that was another thing there was a massive damp patch on one wall. To be honest I don't think my partner is keen because it's smaller upstairs (not downstairs) than where we have now, there is a small shed which is dropping to bits so the bikes would have to go inside, we'd have to split the boys into 2 bedrooms instead of having bedroom then PC/play room, as the rooms are smaller but I said we could get round that by getting them the beds with the desks under like they've been moaning for. Oh and it's ALL magnolia. Holes wouldn't take long to sort but stated on advert that decorating was not allowed, if that's the case then would need to get them to do it before we moved in. Another thing was the bath is tiny and lack of a shower, it's not got a solid wall next to the taps so I can't just put one of those over the taps ones on, have asked if they'd allow us to fit one as DP just wouldn't fit in that bath.

Maralum that's flying too high, being that organised isn't allowed :p

Flying wise, I've managed to get all the laundry put away in the boys room, sheets for beds in there now dry just need making, think I'll vacuum next as there is an extra dog on the floor!

Welcome back Tracy, pleased to hear it's gone ok..

    Baby latched on, excuse typos.

Lil_me, good luck with the house hunting, boo to bad neighbours. We've just had some move in along the way and one of them spat on next doors' balcony this morning, then leered at me and checked out my assets. Filthy beast, I'm a breastfeeding mother. He was also old enough to be my father.

Am house-sitting two houses at present, so am up to my eyeballs in it. Pigpen, can I borrow your brood to keep up with my workload? My two won't help at all. I'm sitting for their nanny and they just keep following me to hers to eat her crisps.

DS having a great time at school, came home from his third day today and said: "Mummy, please may I have something to eat? I'm h-h-hungry." The clever little monster's starting to spell things out already!

House looks awful. Am very put out. It used to glisten and gleam. If it glistens now, it's because someone spilt something unmentionable and didn't clean it up.

Will definitely be back on full lists soon. DS will be at school full time and little one is easy to work around. She loves the vacuum. Then again, I'm not surprised, I remember vacuuming like a banshee at the end of my pregnancy, trying to shake the poor mite out!

Right, no more excuses. Will clear up for at least 15 minutes RIGHT NOW!

    hello all

have had something of a funny afternoon! got into town and gave blood fine (after they'd got two extra people to help as they couldn't find the vein!) then i sat and ate the soup i'd taken with me in my keep warm thing (v impressed with it!) and then went to debehhams to look at wedding stuff. therein lies the problem. i really want to get denby plates and things, but OH has said no :( i didn't like anything else there and have really set my heart on it. we are only having a few gifts and mainly having money for the charity OH works for. i need to try and get through to him that for once i want nice stuff, not just the cheapest plates. i ended up crying my eyes out in costa coffee and phoning my sister. another problem ther was that she changed mobile networks without telling me and the call cost £10!!! i'm on payg and of course it was cross network! :(

so anyway, with that and hanging around til they phoned about car (which they didn't - i phoned them and it was sitting there ready) means i am fed up. i know its not much up to what lil_me and others have on at the moment but i just felt overwhelmed with everything there is to do in a short space of time. OH is on the train now and is getting here early (7pm ish) so i've told him to be extra nice to me as i'm a) weepy and b) tired having given blood. need to take an ebay parcel to PO now and then to my friends at 6 to take round the old desk chair she's having. will get spuds peeled before i go so dinner can be ready as getting hungry already. sorry to moan. :o

Did 25 minutes in the end! Floors and sides clear in the sitting room, kitchen and hallway. Washing up done and sink shining. DH is now home. Will see you all later. x
  • Hurrah for Friday!
Can I just warn you I'm revved up this evening, I think the sunshine and the prospect of more to come and an entire week end to myself has gone to my head. Not one room in the house is tidy.

Lil_me,things sound a little better today; I've taken a house in a hurry before and it wasn't a wise move. Best done with a clearer head if that's possible. Glad you've got the 'phone a friend' option though. Plenty of us about tonight to keep a distant eye on you!
Sexymouse, that's a shame about the pub job but if you don't know who you can trust it's maybe not worth it. Hope you find something else though.
Rach, you sound like you've had a bit of a day, enjoy your weekend with OH, I reckon if you aren't having many gifts for your wedding you should at least have something that matters to you.
Hi Maralum, nice to see you posting again and Tracyg, welcome back to the fabulous world of Flylady! Welcome too to Mushypeas!
Pen-pen, I'm going to give your bread thing a go this weekend, maybe the sweet one but let me know how the savoury one turns out!
Nicki, that's a quarter of a million steps! Good on you! I fancy a go at one of those pedometers, I kid myself that I'm walking round a lot at work but my clothes say otherwise..
Dusty, I was wondering about Grannynise too and Shirleypark.

I'm going to make a start and maybe do the half hour challenge thing with pauses for food and maybe a Friday drinkie if it's not too early?

Catch you all later if anyone's about this evening.
