Morning
Just packed teenie off to school so I'm officially kid free during the day. DD2 took herself off today and it feels really strange and quite emotional, end of an era for me, never again will I be taking little ones to school.
Stripped the bed already and it's in the wash, just made a brew so when I've finished that I'm gonna put last nights tea dishes away off the drainer.

Good morning :grouphug: for emotional mums today, waving kiddies off to school... Enjoy the peace for a while
My oven has been fixed!!!! yeah, what can I make first? Traybake? or shortbread with my new Lakeland shortbread mould? Decisions, decisions, Oh I forgot, I have a house to clean
I need to hoover, upstairs and downstairs, dog hair flying everywhere
list: our bedroom, it's a mess in there as usual
kitchen floor
if I have time go into town for DD2 birthday present, she wants a new phone
tidy coffee table
fling boogie, collect things that don't belong in the living room and place elsewhere
phone orthodontist
phone hospital
I will really have to get back into the habit of evening "fluffing" was that what is was called? A quick tidy of living room and kitchen before going to bed, shine your sink so that you come down in the morning to a decent tidy place.
Better get started then. Oven repair man had a good look around the kitchen  wasn't even messy. He did take the oven door off and there was a lot of horrible stuff under it, gave it a good clean while he made out the invoice.
Right, going now...0 -
mumoftwo - I used to hate people coming round to 'fix stuff' I would hide and cringe if they had to move anything lol - thanks to this thread tho it doesn't happen anymore, mind you I moved my washing machine the other week and the carp that was under it
Where is everyone today? Have the cleaning aliens whisked them away in an inter-galactic fling boogie?
List update: then I'm off for a shower I'm a big sweaty pig after all my work - yuk!

Thanks for thinking of me. It was a very emotional day and several things her kids did had me undone and sobbing. They'd both picked stuffed toys to sit on the coffin, they had a beautiful photo of her which her ds kept waving to during the service and her beautiful dd sobbed as though her heart was breaking. Her dh was absolutely brilliant and I kept thinking if he can do this so can I and that kept me together most of the time. What are we going to do without her....... this is hard work isn't it?
See you all later
xx

HopeElizzy.. Now I'm blubbing like a loon.. I can't bear to see children so sad and be unable to make it all better. It just shoes how little understanding the little ones have of 'death' with the little man waving to the picture.. he WILL remember doing that!!! As for her daughter, I'd have just hugged her, I couldn't have helped myself.. or just held her hand, whatever she needed to know someone was there and loves her.. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose your mum as a child.. thankfully!! It does make me appreciate the fact mine is still about to bug, nag and generally get on my nerves!!!! I hope you can all be supportive of one another and help each other through this sad sad time ((((hugs))))
Do you know.. I don't know if hubby or his brother or sister went to his dads funeral... how bad is that??? (bil was 6, sil was 16 months and hubby was 5) I'll make a point of asking him later.
I'm going to update my list. and move on to attacking my bedroom.. the sheets are in the WM, but the rest of the room is a heap!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

HopeElizzy it was always going to be a tough day but what I find encouraging is that her children took an active part in the service, choosing the toys and pictures etc. When DH died I gave my DD the choice of whether to come to the funeral, she never hesitated and wanted to know all that was going on and why! She made some paper flowers which she put on Daddy's box (still don't like saying the c word
) I am so glad she made the decision she made as from now on funerals will not be scary things to her. Kids are so resilient, give them the facts and they deal with them, sure they still need support but somehow they can rationalise it all far easier than is adults. DS was too young to understand what was happening last year and DD and I decided that he would not come to church as to quote DD 'he would only run round andmake a noise!' So he came along afterwards and his vibrancy made the gathering afterwards so much better, people were smiling and thinking positive thoughts of DH as well as of the kids.
Well the ironing pile is down to 12 things wooohooooo, I am running ou of places to put it all just now so need to beat my way to the wardrobes/drawers and get these things away.

HOW TO CLEAN THE HOUSE
1. Open a new file in your PC.
2. Name it "Housework."
3. Send it to the recycle bin.
4. Empty the recycle bin.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Are you sure you want
To delete Housework permanently?"
6. Calmly answer, "Yes," and press mouse button firmly......
7. Feel better?
Works for me!
