Hello! I found that the Nude Progenius oil didn't sink in properly on my skin either. My skin usually loves oils and I've not really had this problem before. I was ready to give up on it but decided to mix a couple of drops (no more) in with my moisturiser at night and it worked really wellIt doesn't seem to matter which moisturiser I pair it with - it makes the moisturiser glide over my face and it sinks in properly. I'm grateful that I only had a sample size of the oil though as the full size would have been a very expensive mistake!

1. Essence red blush lipliner. Use these lip liners as lipstick and they're excellent quality. £1 in wilko.
2. Skin Theraphy Wipes. Really enjoyed these. 50p from wilko.
3. Nice n Easy hair dye in Burgundy Red.
4. Kylie Minogue Darling perfume. Enjoyed this at the end. I'm going to be on a hunt for a new perfume soon...0 -
Hi Roguey!
The Neal's Yard Seaweed and Arnica bath foam is probably my HG bath product. It's really comforting and so concentrated that you only need a tiny amount so it lasts ages. I can't really describe the scent but I agree with their description - " A restorative bath to enjoy when overtired." They make some beautiful products
I'm currently dying of the flu* so that sounds perfect.
*Alright it's a cold and I'm being a touch of a drama queen but I still want this bubble bath :rotfl:0 -

It could be VALM. It definitely wouldn't help anyway. I have always used kabuki brushes so at least I've already got the right tools!
I find primer's a great idea as otherwise the mineral makeup dries out my skin. I also tend to apply the foundation until my skin looks smoothed rather than building up the coverage to be more full. I find that, topped up with the silk powder adds more diffusion and a more polished look. i also forgot to add that I tend to set it all with a spray of my Avene water spray, which seems to help combat the powdery effect and make it more long lasting.
Maybe I'm just heavy handed but applying peepo under my eyes, foundation and silk powder takes me five minutes and far less than if I'm trying to blend liquid (I always end up with a streak somewhere!)
On that note, does anyone else use makeup setting sprays? Any recommendations?0 -

Well done on UUing the lip balm. Enjoy your weekend. XBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I just wanted to pop up and say hi
I'm still doing the challenge but I'm not getting through things very quickly. I've been enjoying reading about everyone else's progress though
I think that I've had a real breakthrough in my mindset recently. I've managed to resist buying any makeup or toiletries for most of this year (still early, I know! :rotfl:) I still have to consciously talk myself out of things, especially special offers, but the feeling of 'want' is definitely subsiding. (Having said that when I looked up the NYR Arnica and Seaweed bath foam to describe it to Roguey I noticed that it was 1/3 off at Waitrose and John Lewis and immediately wanted to buy a back up  ). I also struggled for about a week debating a really great special offer. In the end I chose not to buy it as it was 8 items and they would take up a lot of space. Also, although they were all things I'd use and enjoy I made myself imagine how long it would take me to get to use them if I put them in a 'queue' with similar products. I remind myself that there will always be good offers and I imagine how great it would be to have used everything up and be able to enjoy choosing new things (I fear it will be years before this happens...) The other thing that is helping me is to consciously choose/enjoy favourite things that I already have and allow myself to chop and change between products. This has slowed down my UUs but it has left me feeling happier and more settled. I'm still trying to use up less loved products at the same time though.
I liked the fact that VALM listed some of her favourite products from last month so I'm going to do that
Current top 5 favourites (quite random!)
1. Malin and Goetz lip balm - an old magazine freebie that saved my cracked, sore lips.
2. Sebastian Hydre shampoo and conditioner - bought 2 x 1000ml at a bargain price and it's the best combo I've used for my very dry hair.
3. Crabtree and Evelyn Jojoba Oil Body Lotion - for some reason I find the scent really comforting and it's very effective (light, sinks in quickly, strong scent that lasts and keeps my skin happy). This is quite an ancient stash item and thankfully it hasn't gone off (it's a 500ml bottle from a sale ages ago)
4. Any Nuxe serum. I rotate between three depending on how my skin feels.
5. Penhaligon's Orange Blossom perfume. I've no idea why this is my favourite at the moment. I rotate between my perfumes pretty regularly but this one has 'stuck' as a fave. (I will be sad when this is finished as it was another sale find and unaffordable at full price.)
All of my favourites were sale finds or freebies, which is exactly the kind of things I need to avoid! :rotfl: I just have to trust that I will find nice things at a reduced price once I actually need them...
Best of luck with the rest of the month, everyone0 -

It's 1/3rd off at Waitrose/John Lewis at the moment if that's any help.0 -

I've been using the Freedom make-up setting spray. Its about £5 from Superdrug. I think it would be the same as the Makeup Revolution one -also superdrug- I'm sure they're owned by the same company. I'm not convinced it helps it last much longer but I think it helps meld everything together if that makes sense. Don't put your mascara on before it though!0
