A few UUs for me from the past few days:

    - Organic Surge nourishing rose day cream. WDBA. Just lovely! Sinks in well, smells divine (even though I don't normally like rose products), and left my skin perfectly balanced and moisturised.
    - Lacome Genefique youth activating cream, 5ml sample. WNB. Just average, not worth the price.
    - Laura Mercier flawless skin face polish sample. WMBA. I'm trying to avoid scrubs like this in favour of enzyme exfoliators, but this is really fine, so would use this if I wanted a gritty one.
    - Sanex Zero shower gel sachet. WNBA. Fine, nothing special.
    - I love... Perfectly Peachy shower gel sachet. WNBA. Ick - horrible sickly artificial smell. Didn't lather well either, so needed a lot. Thankfully it got rid of it quicker!
    - Provoke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo. WMBA. Very good, and def works on my blonde. Replaced with a Tigi one for now though, so I'll see how that goes.

And two on my 6 by Spring list!
    - Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation. WPBNA. It's fine at the start, but doesn't last well. Not a HG. Easy to travel with though!
    - Soap & Glory It's About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase. WNBA. Not as good as the Urban Decay one.

I've got a sample of Genefique on the go and agree with you. Using the pipette I only get a little amount of product that does nothing. Have tried tipping the bottle but then get too much product. Either way it makes my skin dry. So not a winner.

Have found a bath bomb that I LOVE : the Peppermint Cream one from Yorkshire Soap Company. Had a bath yesterday and dropped this in. Loads of oil came out straight away so I removed it to reuse. V pleased with this and will repurchase. Both Emma and MRM are unwell at the mo so have told them to use this.

Have pampered myself today. Have used my pedi pro for the first time in ages. Have applied my Avon body lotion to my feet as well and brought it downstairs to use as hand cream as there is not enough left to apply to my body.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • I'm a fellow China Doll. I find I don't use mineral foundation as often as liquid. It takes me about three times as long to apply. Any tips for making it easier?

I do my makeup as I'm getting ready so I give moisturiser a minute to sink in, then apply prime and leave it for a minute or two and then apply the foundation with a LL's baby buki. It takes maybe a minute or two to apply the foundation and then I apply the silk powder over the top with a large fluffy brush.
  • I OUT, not quite a UU. it must have fallen out of my bag!

Hurraw Night lip balm – WBA, was nice.

VALM/Deleted_User - I use the Bare Minerals Handy Buki brush to apply their mineral foundation, I get a beautiful finish but it does take a while to build up the coverage.

    I have a uu

Clinique Smart Custom Serum 50ml - I really like this, it is very smoothing and does help with scars etc but it is £68. Having said that I have used one pump every single day since last August.

Gave myself a good pamper this afternoon before I go to work tonight, had a good bath and UU 2 items. I tried the honeymania bath melt and it's lovely and makes lots of bubbles.

TBS honeymania shower gel 250ml- WBA I really like this scent and as with all tbs shower gels I've tried it's a great consistency and lathers up lovely even though it's soap free. The fragrance stays on the skin after your shower and this size gel lasted me ages. Got quite a few tbs ones in other scents in stash so don't need to re purchase yet but highly likely I'll come back to this in future as I really liked it.

Avon skin so soft shaving cream- Wnba don't think this is still available as it was quite old. I'm still undecided if this did any better a job than shower gel! It was fine did the job ok though. I do have another shaving cream in stash by another brand so do t need any more currently anyway.

Thanks dolly84. I have the Lily Lolo baby buki and the full size kabuki. I think patience probably is key but I don't have that before work every day! I will try to remember to use my Lily Lolo foundation at weekends though.

Thanks rogueylawyer. I have the baby buki, it's a lovely brush. I wonder if I'm not letting my moisturiser sink in enough before I apply the foundation. Also, not sure if I had a primer the last time I tried it so will try again with one.

Is it because your skin is dry? I moisturIse and use a primer underneath. I was off work yesterday (and probably will be today) as Emma has tonsillitis. A friend was calling in at lunch so applied Balance not Brighten only rather than my usual liquid foundation underneath. I use a kabuki brush to apply mine. I think what you apply mineral foundation with is important toone as it needs to be buffed in rather than just applied. HAHA.
It could be VALM. It definitely wouldn't help anyway. I have always used kabuki brushes so at least I've already got the right tools!

    12) Neal's Yard aromatic bath foam. LOVE this stuff, I definitely see more Neal's Yard in my future

    Hi Roguey!

The Neal's Yard Seaweed and Arnica bath foam is probably my HG bath product. It's really comforting and so concentrated that you only need a tiny amount so it lasts ages. I can't really describe the scent but I agree with their description - " A restorative bath to enjoy when overtired." They make some beautiful products :)
