I've probably posted this link before, but if you haven't seen 'Box Clever' Kazwookie, it's well worth it. (We helped crowdfund the full length colour version of 'Off to the Vet' and OH got a signed set of cartoons that are included in this sequence, so we're very fond of it.)

One of our cats managed to scratch himself between his shoulder blades and it just wouldn't heal; apparently it's not that uncommon. The vet taped up his back paws to stop him re-opening his wound and eventually it healed, but it is a bit of a bu**er to deal with, if that's the problem. I think it's because some of them are a bit sensitive to the spot on flea treatment, but that's just my uninformed opinion with absolutely no evidence to support it.
Can I join your group please? Need an incentive to keep me on track daily as I end up madly tidying on days off and not enjoying them!

Welcome HeyJude! Don't push yourself too hard, just a little bit at a time and you'll gradually start to see a real change.

*worms be gone vibes* heaing your way, YL, and a bucket of (((hugs))).

Strengthening vibes heading you way CY.

Superking changed, shower room sparkled, hob sparkled, half the house dewebbed and dusted, last load of laundry folded and put away, more laundry stacked up for next time it's breezy and sunny. Getting there.
    Better is good enough.

Please will you come and do my house tomorrow, HB?

Pigpen, calm down, all is well with your OH. Did you pop the question today, BTW? You should!
    Big (((hugs))) to YL.
Glad to hear that Miss Frizzle is doing well.

Long journey done, several hundred mixed books picked up from a big pile (and I mean B.I.G.), inspected and sorted into smaller piles with something vaguely approaching a logical separation of different subject matters. This is what my friend wanted, and she was very pleased that we sorted about 2 cubic yards of reading matter, but I think it was a ridiculous waste of time. I do wish she could clear out the new house first - it's still full of unwanted furniture, ornaments, books and general rubbish - and make space for the stuff she's bringing over from their current home: there's just nowhere to put it! She still hasn't got the bookshelves to put the books on, so they're going to have to be moved yet again. But I can't go back to help until after Easter : I just haven't got time.

I want to flat ice the wedding cakes this evening, but the packets of fondant icing have gone solid. I've put them on the kitchen radiator to warm up, but the heating is hardly on, and I'm not staying up until midnight! I might need to defer that job until tomorrow morning and just watch TV catch-up this evening.

Thanks for the welcome backs, much appreciated.

    Welcome HeyJude.

Frizzle congratulations on the birth of Little Miss Frizz

Long day, paid stuff and governing meeting (last one of my committee as I've resigned). Flying has been limited to washing up and putting food shop away.

Survived the day which right now I just consider a bonus. Feeling a bit tearful so need to get last few chores done and then distract myself with a book.

    Tomorrow is another day.

  • Monday Done! Finally sitting down to a tidy living room with all washing up done too. It's a nice feeling!

There are some very impressive to-do lists on here! I don't seem to achieve half as much as some of you, will need to build up my stamina!

Hopefully little and often will be the key to my new tidy-self!

    Jx

Hugs, sticks, spoons and vibes as needed to all. My brain is about as much use as a chocolate teapot tonight. :o

Monday flying did not happen except laundry juggling. I didn't even make tea as it was scouse I made last night with added dumplings which DD made from a packet mix. :o I have instead spent the best part of 6 hours sorting stuff out for and writing the email for work. I'm still not done!! I only stopped as DD came home from school, so between her chattering, playing music on her phone, the dog pestering both of us wanting to play, and the fact I'd been working so long I couldn't concentrate any more. :( Since I stopped I have portioned out tea, including 3 servings for the freezer for when there's only me eating and decluttered a programme on the dvr :o

I'm going to go and tidy the kitchen and livingroom then head to bed. I'm shattered and need to be up in the morning to iron DD a blouse and clear my small ironing pile. Tomorrow is my order day and I've not even looked at the books I collected on Thursday yet so its going to be another busy work day. Roll on Thursday when I should be able to get stuck in with something else.

    Night all
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Thanks all, hugs accepted and returned as needed. Calmer now. Vermox tablets all round (thanks Pigpen). Massive deep clean undertaken and I am completely shattered.

I picked DS1s blood test results up from the docs after work and the receptionist was a bit reluctant to print them out. Most of the test results say abnormal including liver function and overall blood count. I was too flippin bothered about the threadworms to process this at the time. At hospital tomorrow for treatment then seeing the specialist in a couple of weeks so we will see what's going on. Its no surprise really.

Anyway what I really want to know is now that I have deep-cleaned upstairs do I get a flylady pass for the rest of the week or do I have to do extra chores? My windows do need cleaning I suppose.

Better get my bed made up before I collapse into it.

Nice to see you Dusty and welcome Jude x

Welcome Jude, you'll love it on here as there's a lot of encouragement and lots of support too! Little and often is definitely the key to cracking this housework malarkey.

Dusty, sending you a gentle hug honey and a box of tissues for the tears x

Off to bed now; very tired and trying to stick to my rule of going to bed at a sensible time - wonder how long that'll last!

    Night all x

Hi everyone, sending best wishes to YL and a warm welcome to HeyJude well done on what you've done today.
I've been to work today, cars now in garage, I'm going to miss it, sooner it comes back home the better. Fly wise I've cleared a hot spot in my kitchen, took the paperwork & actually filed it away instead of just rearranging it.
  • Hugs YL- hope it all gets cleared up.

I was doing quite well until the school run and then little miss f wouldn't settle so the ironing will have to wait. I did order the thank you cards (took a while but they look good with a photo of miss f on the front. They should arrive at the end of the week! Also uses up some track vouchers so we can go to the safari park and a local soft play area in the next few months!

    Updated list!
