Mrs MP the next time DD3 has to visit MIL, I suggest she procures a bright green curly fright wig to wear. :rotfl: Honestly, there's constructive criticism, and there's downright offensive! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I always found that whenever they asked me something I wanted to say "Why do you need to know that? It's none of your business". :rotfl:

Hi Everyone
Glad to hear that many of you have had a good day.I thought I was going to have a family feud as both my sons wanted to take me out,but it all ended happily.I went with DS2 and received a beautiful bouquet, plus lunch and a lovely Grandma card by Gs2.I'm going out with the others on another day.
Glad that the wedding dress trip was successful CY
It's good that you and your Dd have a good sense of humour Mrs MP.
Minimal flying done here,just a bit of ironing.0 -
LW I hope that works for you, I cant help thinking there must be better ways of helping people with anxiety and depression. When you are really anxious being shut in a small consulting room with a complete stranger and asked very personal questions is not easy.
The autism specialist kept asking DS why he couldnt face school. I know that there were many complicated reasons but ultimately he was just scared and he couldnt explain why.
Anyway, we have had a nice afternoon at the seaside (in the snow) and had fish and chips for tea. DS said to me yesterday he felt really down so this was as much for him as anyone else.
Oh and Mrs MP my father has decided that he can say what he likes to people now, no matter how hurtful or upsetting. He has been told in no uncertain terms that if he does this with me he will never see me again.
Right, bit of clean washing to sort then feet up. I still havent done a meal plan!0 -

Pleased nice days have been had, especially by CY re the weddiing dress shopping - and, on the same subject, coping vibes to Mrs MP...re the MIL with attitude.
Haven't done much but I have cleaned the PC keyboard; keys have been levered off and bathed in household soda and hot water and are now cleaned and de-greased. All the underneath the keys has been cleaned, too. I did take photos first so i knew where to put the unfamiliar keys. I was going to post before and after photos but before are, frankly, foul so I shall hide my shame.
I have done 2 loads of washing, dried them outside and they've now been ironed and the bunny got cleaned out.
In all honesty, not much actual cleaning as been done this week but it's not actually obvious...woot!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

YLmy ds2 was having difficulties which I thought were caused by depression but the therapist who dealt with him suspected autism, something which hadn't occurred to me, he was assessed & diagnosed with asd, he got the support he needed & life got better for him. In our case it was just one professional who spotted something in him when I felt so scared I could lose him & felt so desperate to help him. I myself had depression & finally asked for help a few months after he was diagnosed.
LW I know someone who has done CBT over the internet & found it helpful. Anything that might help is worth trying in my opinion.
Dancemum Sorry to hear your son lost his job, hope he gets good job news soon.
MrsMP Congratulations on dd's wedding news but how rude is your MIL, she sounds throughly unpleasant, luckily she still has you & her family still around her despite her flaws so I suppose that should give the rest of us some hope, I for one try to see such encounters as a how "not to be" lesson from not so nice people, if for nothing else but to stop me from reacting to them in a give as good as you get attitude because 9 out of 10 times I'm sure I'd scare myself never mind them if I let my inner b***h out to play.
Pigpen hope you & the family are over the worst of things now.
Sending best wishes to everyone else, myself I didn't do much flywise the last 3 days, apart from reading, in order to declutter books or am I just kidding myself that that counts.0 -
Evening all
Thanks a million for all the anniversary wishes. We went to a new-to-us 'Italian' restaurant for a meal - not an Italian in sight in the restaurant or kitchen. We won't be going back. We had to wait ages for our food and it wasn't very good at all. The wine was lovely. Oh well - at least it didn't rain or snow.
Sounds like you had a lovely day CY and lovely to hear she's found something she's happy with wearing
Sorry to hear about your DS losing his job dancemum and hope he soon finds something else he likes.
Gosh Mrs MP - I admire you for your patience and self-control. I'm honest in that I would have had to say something back in return in the circumstances. Pleased your DD didn't take umbrage though.
Just did the dailies today, some shopping and made a roast dinner. My DS phoned me for Mother's day greetings and he said he's hoping to see us in Spain next weekend :j
Hugs, gws vibes, sticks and spoons for those needing some
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday and stay warm and dry
