Hi,
Not sure if this has been done already but we should have a thread where we all tell of our best buys at the booty each weekend! I know I'm sad and I bore my family going on about my buys but I get so excited when I've bought bargains at the booty!!!
My best buy today was 7 metres of purple bali print fabric for £4 the lot - it usually sells at £10 a metre. I do patchwork and quilting so will probably use a bit of it and hopefully sell some on ebay and make a profit.
Last week I got a fairly tasteful modern standard lamp, which works, for £2 which I was very pleased with.
Today I also got a few tigger toys for my daughter that's she's made up with. Also a lovely eyore toy, new, for 75p that she can give to her friend for a birthday pressie! Bargain! Oh and 6 birthday cards for a quid. Plus, there's a stall that sells stuff like Walkers crisps, just out of date, 3 big bags for a pound.
I love going up the boot sale. The kids can get so much for a few pounds and I love coming home and coveting my goodies, such a saddo! Are there any other saddos like me out there????

I'm a big fan of car boot sales. Today's bargains included a purple coat (purple's my favourite colour), a vintage Chorlton and The Wheelies jigsaw and a pair of Ray-Bans, all for 50p each! The sunglasses had no case, but at that price I'm certainly not complaining.0

Today i managed to get 6 pairs of next and principle jeans for me for 50p. Hardly worn and immaculate. So on coming home i decided to stick them straight in the washing machine, checked the pockets and there was £20 in one of them:j so a real real bargain:rotfl: :rotfl:0

Wow! 20 quid in the pocket, what a bargain! Don't you get a real buzz out of boot sale bargains compared to going to the shops and paying full price?0
-
I must confess to loving my bargains too and scour the car boot fairs and charity shops whenever I can. 'Tis a great feeling to get something you've really wanted at about a tenth of the price!
You'll love this one though...
My mother works in a charity shop with the other 'maturer ladies' and were selling a suit which my mother picked up for my hubby. Sadly, no £20 note in the pocket, but there was a full sachet of Viagra!!! I wonder who's missing those?!?!?0 -
we went to chlmsford car boot at the weekend and i got an excercise bike for £5 (worth about £30) ive been after one for a few weeks but i didnt want to pay loads,i cant wait till ive had my baby now and then i can start using it and getting fit.0
-
He he Penny, that's funny about the viagra! I wonder if any of the ladies sneaked some home for their men!!
Good news about the exercise bike wirelover, it's great when you pick up something you've been after for a while. i need a plastic tray, like a cat litter one for soaking A4 pieces of fabric in, but you never see what you want. i'm just being tight and trying to avoid paying a whole £2.50 on a new one!
how long til the baby's due? don't envy you the birth, but would like to have a baby though. will just have to wait for one of my daughter's to make me a granny! x0 -
We were at a car boot sale last week and a really nice man was GIVING things away. He said he would rather it go and take it home as they were moving house and had a young baby. I believe in karma, so some good luck will be coming his way shortly.
I picked up four books, a dolphin mirror, some toys and two lovely wine glasses.0 -
yeah, i saw someone selling everything off for 10p at the end the other week but there wasn't anything i wanted! i usually take it all to a charity shop if i can't sell it all rather than take it home again.
hopefully the weather will stay nice for this sunday so i can go scouring for bargains! it's so disappointing when it rains and you can't go!0 -

When it`s raining is the best time to go, less people after your bargains and the sellers sometimes get desperate.sewbocushions wrote: »yeah, i saw someone selling everything off for 10p at the end the other week but there wasn't anything i wanted! i usually take it all to a charity shop if i can't sell it all rather than take it home again.
