Extra Energy with-holding refund
Hi,
I'm after some help and I'm not sure what to do. I used extra energy as my gas and electri. Suppliers but switched suppliers in Oct 2015. It took EE until the end of January 2016 to get a final bill which showed I had a large refund due. I've since rang them 5 times to chase this refund and keep getting "fobbed" off and nothing is being done. After asking for the issue to be escalated, the complaints team pretty much laughed at me.
So after going through this, I spoke to the bank and asked for the last DD payment to be returned as part of the DD indemnity claim. There is a 6 pound difference between the DDI payment and the refund I'm owed which I'll pay back but I'm worried that as this payment wasn't taken in error that I could get into trouble for using this process.
Anyone able to help?
Thanks

INAL but I don't really think your case will be the top of the list at the SFO but nevertheless, it does sound somewhat fraudulent, doesn't it?
Still, what do they say about 2 wrongs making a right?
Why don't you follow the complaint procedure you started? So what if people are laughing at you???
(I must admit, I had a giggle at your post too - was that wrong?)0 -
You're not the only one to be fobbed off by Extra Energy.
Thre's a long thread about Extra Energy. If you look through this (starting at the end) I'm sure there will be useful suggestions for getting your money back.0 -

I read this as you left Extra Energy BUT continued to pay them by Direct Debit AFTER the switch - you say you recalled the EE direct debit payment leaving a £6 debt.
Is this £6 based on your final bill, or is it based on ALL your payments made?
Why did you not stop the DD when you switched - you need to make sure of your facts and figures, then WRITE to them and head the letter COMPLAINT, set out what you have paid and what the final bill should be and what, if any, amount is owed by either side and refuse to discuss it any further on the phone.0
