Would WASPI detractors support giving only eighteen months' notice of abolishing the pension commencement tax free lump sum?

If the pensions overhaul is radical as it sounds it maybe. Then going to be several years rather than months before implementation.

If/when it happens it's likely to be less than 24 hours notice.

Unless you're implying about monies already tied up in funds that cannot be moved. In which case
    • that will never happen, so it's pointless even postulating it.
    • the money can't be moved even it it did happen and if X months notice was given, so again, it's pointless even postulating it.

Note sure what disqualified me from giving opinions on options but I wasn't asked about them. Maybe it was something to do with being male or saying I was satisfied with the current situation so my views on other options aren't considered to matter by whoever set up the survey.

If you chose you were satisfied you wouldn't be given the options to choose from as that only mattered if you aren't satisfied with changes.

A person can think that the current situation is correct and still have opinions about proposed alternatives. It'll be interesting to see what claims are made about the survey results, in particular in relation to validity of the sample used.

    True James.

Given that it's clearly a Voodoo poll, I think that all that can be said of the sample is that it won't be representative.

I think you will find that many of the people posting who do not support WASPI are also "old women" moaning or otherwise. Misogyny does not add anything to this thread.
No. However our elected representatives seem to think misandry does add to the debate...see posts #10 and #28.

Is there nothing we can make jokes about anymore?

The notice period for the state pension age changes was a lot more than 18 months! The general opinion here in the previous threads seemed to be a lot of sympathy for the notice period of the 2011 changes, but WASPI issue was also with the 1995 changes - their ridiculous "ask" to compensate all 1950's women has basically drowned the valid point about insufficient notice to some.

It appears WASPI have a rival now, with a somewhat crude and ridiculous purpose.

STATE PENSION AGE FOR WOMAN TO BE REDUCED FROM 66 TO 60

I am told this petition had over 60,000 signatures today alone, although it seems to have been set up some time ago. A bot-fed parody on WASPI? A break-away faction of disgruntled WASPI supporters?
