    Hi all

I am in! I need a bit of normality this week. Oh and I have bought a fab leather sofa for the study for £25 off fleabay. Its got a mark on it though, any advice? Pigpen did you get some leather chairs and clean them up with something once?

Bedtime. Sounds like DS2 is still up too. See you tomorrow.

I bleached the living daylights out of them.. a scrubbing brush and a strong bleach solution.. then wiped down with fabric conditioner and a microfibre cloth.. to rid them of the cat and cigarette smells... My mother uses a solution of bleach, stardrops and washing up liquid on hers.. with one of those microfibre wormy cloths.

try WD40 and hairspray first if you dont want a chemical concoction.. they shift most stuff.

    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening all

I'm in for this week. Thank you Piggers for this week's thread and thank you Natty for last week's.

Glad it's the kitchen first as the floor is in serious need of a good clean. Gosh, it's so difficult to keep on top of things when DH at home all day - much as I love his company he does get in the way of flying :rotfl:

DH back to work the morrow and I've already put a casserole ready for the sc so am definitely having an hour me time in the afternoon.

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Clean floors,
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Clean the INSIDE of the microwave... don’t forget the ceiling!!!
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances
15 minute fling and tidy in that junk drawer in the kitchen.. get rid of all that stuff you put in there for ‘later’ .. mind those prehistoric mousetraps!!
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:
Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
Wash the washer drawer out if it is icky, check filters too!!
30 minutes ironing!!! I KNOW you’ll love me for that one!
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week

Sending gws vibes, hugs, sticks and spoons to anyone needing some
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

Oooopppps I got a second wind :o On the plus side I've made inroads on my shopping lists for tomorrow. In theory I can now get out before 10am but we'll have to see. :o

Now I'm off to bed.

I am home and in thank you for threads

Had to call out RAC though as I had no brake lights. The bloke who almost ran into me let me know, nicely. I might not have made it home in one piece!

  • Good morning, school back so am in this week. Did get basics and other bits done last week so not too bad.

Pleased to report ironing is up to date and microwave wash already done at the weekend due to an exploding soup incident :s

Main thing for today is tidy stuff away and sort through some boxes for keep/bin/cs to clear up a bit.

    Have a good day everyone.

Cheers, the rest of the sofa is OK and doesnt smell thankfully but this mark is annoying me. Will have a go at it this afternoon.

Not feeling very motivated this morning but better get ready for the paid stuff, one load of washing in and tonights stew in the sc.

    Morning all

Yesterday I managed to do WMx2 and get most of it dried and put away; the rest is hanging in the Chinese laundry aka bathroom. I also spent 3 hours at M€rry H€ll and came away with a dress and two jackets (one denim-look jersey and the other a more formal style to go with the dress) with plenty of change from my £100 budget, so I am all set for my goddaughter's wedding in March, apart from buying a new handbag (which I need anyway).

I shall be flying this week as far as other things allow. DGD1 has an insect day today (her first!) and is coming to us, so we are taking her into the big city by train and going to do an "Animals in Art" trail round the museum and art gallery. We also hope to let her have a go on one of those enormous bungee trampoline things which were out in the shopping centre last week - just hoping they're still there today, though we haven't said anything to her about it just in case they've packed up and left at the end of half term. (I did ask DS1 if he was happy for her go on it.)

So today's list is very short:
    [STRIKE]- Shower and dress[/STRIKE]
    - Eat breakfast when DGD1 arrives
    - Phone friend re key
    - S&S bathroom and kitchen
    - Cook and eat tea
    - Collect speaker for Old Wives' meeting and give her a lift home again afterwards

I have a paper list of various little jobs to be done in between these, if I have time ;)

Hope everyone has a good day, with all Flykids safely back at school x
