It's starting to become very lucrative to be a wineclub and healthy living member - I now get a free gift with each mailing (body deodorant, lipsil), double points on a shop, 50 free points voucher, various other very good offers like 450 points for spending £10 on wine - so £18 in deals vouchers for £10 spent ;)

Finally got through to the right person. This card sounds good. It should help with budgeting. The worse bit will be working out how much I do spend at Tesco, probally a lot more than I think I do!

Can you choose when the money goes out of your account and into the green card? And how soon can you use the card?

Also can you view your account on line?

Do the extra points show on your monthly statement and then on your quarterly clubcard statement or do they show on your receipt straight away?

Also if you have a double points voucher form a Tesco mailing will you be able to use it, will it double everything up again?

Yes, obsessed with points. Finally got our own Tesco last December so this is our first full quater and I think I amassed about 5200 points, so quite pleased with myself but now I have to do even better next quater.

You can choose when and how much goes out of your bank account every month.

You can view your accounts online, clubcard / savings / credit card,i have these entered into my Egg money Manager, so every account i have is displayed.

The points collected show up on your till reciept.

Combine the Clubcard Plus with the Tesco Credit Card, and i think that combination would be hard to beat??? Martin

Please note however.....do not spend your vouchers instore if you want the maximum benefit......you need to redeem then for Clubcard Deal vouchers instead.

A pity that these only come four times a year, every month or every two months would be even better!

The childrens clubs also have a few extra points coupons and free offers and the new food club was good for vouchers in its first issue as well.

This is what the Tesco website says about points earnt on the credit card:

Interesting. This looks like you can earn 3 points at Tesco with a cc but only if you spend £2, so your shopping has to be a muliply of 2. Is that right?

But with this green card every £1 earns you 2 points. Yes?

I think that if once every month or so (when cc bill comes) I miss out on 1p because of the multiples then I'll survive ;)

    From Tesco website:

    'Earn Clubcard points
Whether it's petrol, a package holiday or a meal in a restaurant - we'll give you 1 point for every £2 you spend!'

Therefore I get 1 ordinary clubcard point per pound plus 0.5 from the cc.

On a Tesco Credit Card you get 1 point for every £2 spent that is not at a Tesco's and 3points for every £2 spent at Tesco's - that is 1 point as per normal clubcard and 1 point per pound of spend on the creditcard in store. this is what their website says:

“How can I earn Clubcard Points with my Tesco Credit Card

The Tesco Credit Card is the best way to earn Clubcard Points fast! You'll earn 3 points for every £2 spent in a Tesco store and 1 point for every £2 spent everywhere else that you use your card². If you're a Tesco Finest Platinum card-holder you'll enjoy the extra benefit of earning 2 points for every £2 you spend at Tesco.com.”

The extra points mount up if you use them for clubcard deals which are worth 4 times the face value. The clubcard vouchers that come with your statement usually have a two year life span so that means you can save up for big things like holidays etc. I think that you have to think of things in the long term.

I think what Darren means is that the odd 1p here and there when the bill comes to say £27.99 and you get 39 points instead of 42 the potential 12p cashback lost on that transaction isn't going to kill anyone. You'd have to shop an awful lot at Tesco before a pile of 12p credits became significant!

No it's not that much James - it's calculated on your total credit card bill for the month so therefore the maximum you could miss out on per month is going to be 1p x 4 = 4p (normal points are calulated as 1 per £1 same as any other clubcard).

However the maths work out, the points lost are still fairly minimal :)
