Newhaven... no thank you..... (though each to their own...!!)
Unfortunately the shopping can be a pain sometimes as I think the retailers still think EB (and surrounding area) are full of nothing but 90 year olds, therefore if you want something else the stock answer is "go to Brighton". My answer is "I don't live in Brighton, I live here & I want you to order it in..." . Which they don't do most of the time, but I like to make my point, lol!!
But yes, I love East Sussex - I can't see myself living anywhere else!! (although the area on the border with Kent has some gorgeous little villages too). I think we have it all here
Famous Moes - I love it!!! Especially the purple coleslaw. It's along Seaside, near the town end. They do delivery (though probably not to Cooden?!) but you can order to collect as well. And you can order online!
Do you know, I don't think I've ever tried Birling Gap - done the pub at Beachy Head though. I must give it a go, my girls like going to little tea-room/cafe's.
Anyway, better get up & moving, got a work placement to get to! Have a good day (am curious to know which EA having worked for one locally in the past myself!)Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
hello, hope you don't mind me butting in! Where abouts in Lancashire did you move down from? I'm nearly sussex born and bred, and moved up to Garstang, Lancs, due to OH work for 3 years and loved every minute! I know Cooden/Little Common very well. At least you are by the sea, I think everything in Bexhill area sort of slows down a little!
I do think the accent thing is hilarious. I was cockney near enough to the Garstang lot, even though born in Surrey, living in Sussex/Kent!0 -
i used to work for famous moes- you can get tired of pizza very quickly, when making it every day!
the coleslaw was very addictive- i think a small amount of sugar was included in the mix, at head officce.. its red cabbage that makes it go pink, not just because its from brighton!
no idea how/who makes it now though..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0
