You'd still need a BT line (Sky's 2 packages are both CPS - they don't do line rental).

Can I suggest you click on the 'HERE' link in my signature below.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

No, you're only contracted to BT for 12 months for the line rental. You can CPS your calls and/or use 1899, 18185, 18866 whenever you like.

My daughter (family of 6) has that. Apart from the £5 covering all their UK 01/02 calls, the benefit of it being CPS is that you can, as they do, still use 18185 for calls to mobiles.

Don't forget to reduce your BT package to BT Together Option 1 at the same time.

Yes, my online bill is right up the creek too. I have e mailed 3 times and spent over half an hour on the phone to them and been promised that they will correct it but they still haven't. Despite paying my bill on 17th July, all my calls dating back to April/May/June are shown again on my recent calls total. They still also send me paper bills as well as e mails as I am supposedly paper free and get the discount for this. When I mentioned this they said it would take a few months to correct .... why???

I've sent message to BT today, telling them that I've forwarded copy to Ofcom, as my online bills are incorrect (not that I expect much from them). Spoke to someone on 150, who said she's had loads of people calling about same problem. I asked her if she could escalate the problem, she said she'd put me through to relevant department (e-billing) and when she did I was met by a recorded message telling me opening hours are Mon-Sat 8-8. Fortunately, I anticipated the call wouldn't get through (I wonder why?!), so took direct number from her first, 0800 328 9642, so will call tomorrow to complain to them too!
