Anyone willing to speculate about what a withdrawal from the EU will do to NI?
First thought is no more euro support for farming. Next, what about cross border business? Could get awkward (until the south leaves as well) - there would have to be allowances made for the uk's only land frontier.
Any other guesses?
Who's in favour and who's agin, and why?

We're all doomed!!!:D
I actually think we are so integrated with the EU now we couldn't survive outside.
One Tory MP it seems was delighted as the UK leaving, workers rights out the window and cheaper UK labour.0 -
It seems the other states sell more to the uk than Britain does to them, so presumably any reduction in trade will be more damaging to them than Britain.
Would a loss of imported workers not lead to a better bargaining position for British unions? Immigration has been used as a means of keeping labour costs low.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -
Can see the likes of Moy Park worrying, its difficult to get honest figures but it seems we give more money to the EU than we get back.So many of the laws made now appear to come from the EU,people who never stood in any election yet can dictate how we live our lives, who we must let stay in our country even if they are rapists or murderers.
I think camerons "leap in the dark" is his way of generating fear in people who are undecided but what should we fear?many other countries outside the EU work perfectly well with EU countries without the chains that being a member brings. On the day we will each have to make up our own minds which way to vote but as I posted on another thread when the summer comes again we will see hundreds of thousands of migrants massed on the borders of turkey, greece and in calais, many of them hoping to reach the UK.
Some say even outside the EU we cant stop them coming here but I completely disagree with that. When we control our borders and have the bottle to put in place measures similar to Australia where you are turned straight around on the next plane if your paperwork is not in order with no exceptions we can stop it.
If the vote is to stay in then I will respect the will of the people but will not be surprised each time I visit the doctor, hospital or see a child trying to get a place in primary school to be told "sorry we are full"...0 -
Since the schools, hospitals, you name it, have incurred extra costs due to moypark's enthusiasm for foreign labour, is there no way they can be made to pay? It's all mad.
By the way, good luck getting your child into st Patrick's dungannon if you're a local, when children whose native language is not English are favoured. This may of course be hysteria, and I'm happy to be contradicted.
Oh - and the last time I looked at a map of Europe, Timor leste was not on it. Nor was São Tom! and principe. Yea, it's all mad.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

At the moment there is a bill going through Westminster to slaughter the unions for good. Thatcher neutered them, Cameron wants them dead0 -
Everyone understands the power of a strike.
Are you referring to the funding bill?“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -
With any luck, there will be a rush of good sense and no vote for exit...0

Well don't include Theresa villiers and the dup, it seems. Good luck with attracting the farming vote on that one. No doubt the newly "liberated" uk will rely on cheap food from South America, where disease standards and drug controls are non- existent. I suppose we can turn our entire country over to Sitka spruce.
The way I see this, the eu is a fundamentally great idea, which needs to be reformed, not abandoned. I'm a stay in voter.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

Yup... no sense in trying to separate us politically from an area we are geographically a part of... I sometimes think the simplest solution to the "union/Ireland" question is to just wait until we all assimilate into Europe...0 -
nothing to worry about - Boris is on the job ..0
