Glass veranda - colour not as described

Hi
We chose X because of look and quality. We ordered glass roof 4m x 3.5 made to spec.
A very expensive item considering it's only a glass roof cost £10250.00. We wanted an elegant roof to match our new sandstone patio. We had tiny rectangle samples to chose the colour. There were 4 or 5 shades of beige. We went for sandstone yellow because that was the perfect match to our patio. I remember not going for the ivory because it looked too light. Now the frame is up the colour is mustard yellow. Instead of an elegant glass roof it stick out like a sore thumb, looks awful, cheap and tacky. We admit we chose the colour sandstone yellow but the colour is mustard yellow and the shade of the colour is a lot darker on the bigger frame as oppose to went we view it in the tiny version.. Now the glass roof has a leak and we've been told it's condensation. Have requested refund- refused. Not paid the last instalment of £1025.00 and have been threatene with legal procedure. Have contacted credit company. Do I have any right to pursue this? Thanks

Take a photo of your tiny rectangle sample next to the roof, this proving it is a different colour, and ask them to supply you a roof of the correct shade.
If the sample matches the roof, then there is nothing you can do.
If the roof is leaking, then they need to fix it.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Are you saying part of the reason you chose this glass is because it was called" sandstone yellow"?
Are you saying there is another darker colour in the range and you have wrongly been given that?0 -

Which price is correct? £10250 or £1025?
Do you still have the glass sample?0 -

One would guess £10250 was the price and £1025 then final instalment.0 -
Yes the sample matches the roof. Correct price is £10250.00 very expensive. No we have'nt been given the wrong colour. What I am saying is at the time we had a choice of 4 or 5 different shades of beige to chose from. We took the samples outside and against our patio we chose the colour sandstone yellow because at the time that was the colour that matched our patio. With hindsight we should have gone with Ivory. Now the frame is up and it's much bigger than the tiny sample - the colour is a lot darker than it look on the tiny sample. The sample is not glass and no we don't have the sample. The samples are basically tiny rectangle of aluminium with different colour on it. And yes we also chose sandstone yellow for the aluminium frame because that's the colour of our patio. Thanks0

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the colour of the glass but you are talking about the aluminium frame.
I'm confused here . In the list above you say' it's much bigger than the tiny sample'.
Can you explain what you mean.
Btw do you have a ten year warranty, did they try to persuade you to take out an extended warranty?
Also this is a smallish open? verandah, it's very cold and wet right now , I'm not doubting you, but how can you be sure this is a leak?0 -

In which case the company have provided exactly what you ordered. You were happy enough to order based on the sample; you can't then complain it was too small after the fitting. You have no rights to change your mind.
To be quite honest, you have a massive cheek asking for a refund.
The only right you have is to have the leak fixed.0 -
So because you don't like the colour that you chose, you've decided the company should give you all your money back? Despite the fact they've delivered exactly what you asked them to.
But they should fix the leak, that I agree with you on.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Hi
Sorry for confusion. The frame is made out of aluminium and spray in the colour of your choice. The frame is against the wall and supported by two posts at the other end. The top is tinted glass. You can also have sides and doors which we did'nt go for as that would be another £17000.00. So glad we did'nt go for that.
We noticed there was a leak week before last. In the middle of the patio there was a wet patch and on the aluminium slate on the roof there were droplets of water. X have taken a look at the leak and says it is condensation. Is that right? it does have 10 year guarantee and no they did'nt try to sell extended warranty.
Regarding colour. No I have not changed my mind regarding the colour I wanted. I wanted the colour to match my patio which is sandstone yellow. The colour I chose is sandstone yellow. The colour on the glass roof is Mustard yellow. I don't think the samples gives a true reflection of the shades in colour. So with hindsight I should have gone for Ivory which would have been a better match on my sandstone patio.0
