DWH have turned out to be shocking for us. We're currently entering into final talks with management before we begin legal proceedings.

Make sure what you have bought lines up, the drains consistently drain and the pipes don't tick when the hot water runs.

Our new home is turning into a nightmare.

So far so good! We had an issue before we moved in with the stone sills and they sorted them out the next day and are now spot on. We've pointed a couple of minor things out and they said they will be coming to see us Friday to make sure we are happy with everything. Everyone on our estate so far has nothing but fantastic things to say and have left reviews etc. Time will tell I guess!

By the way, how old was the house you lived in before? Ticking pipes is quite normal in newer houses as they are plastic. I haven't noticed it here but our old house was 15 year old and had plastic pipes and my oh always used to notice the pipes ticking as they expand. Me not so much.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in. I haven't posted in here yet as I've been waiting with bated breath for confirmation of our buyers mortgage before getting too excited but we went to to visit our new build (Persimmon 4 bed) yesterday and I couldn't wait to post here :)

The house is 75% built apparently - it has been plastered and kitchen went in last week. Bathrooms are going in this week, painting, tiling and finishing to be done ready for a move in date in December, everything crossed that it all goes to plan now!

So pleased to see some good new home reviews - I've lived in new builds before as my parents bought a couple but this is our first new build - moving from a 2 bed 1930s semi to a 4 bed detached and more excited to be detached than anything else at the moment!
    :j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
    Mortgage - £151.316.54

Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing? A week in and we are still over the moon with our choice! Still don't have any curtains or light fittings and in the middle of tiling the hall and kitchen floor stil

    How's everyone else doing?

Had a call yesterday advising still waiting on the kitchen to be delivered! But the boiler and radiators are installed.

They're aiming for the CML/NHBC sign off for next Friday but it could be the following Monday or Tuesday. Still hopeful for completion on the 24th November :)

I'm so excited reading this thread!

We have been lucky in some ways in that the house already had the roof on when we reserved so we haven't had quite as much time to wait.

They seem to have done things a bit differently to others here though - kitchen is in, only bathrooms left to go in and painting and tiling to be done (and flooring) but nothing really seems to be happening at the moment :( probably because we are still awaiting exchange and they're working on other properties until we've exchanged....that's my theory anyway :rotfl:
