Does anyone want to join me waiting for new build to be built and complete

Joining this thread a little prematurely as we're waiting to sell ours before reserving... Has anyone used any of the developers assisted sale schemes?0

Well, finally in my new house, not competed yet legally, but have been given access under licence and will be completing on Thursday.
The builders still have quite some work to do, mainly in the bathrooms (grouting to be finished, shower cubical to be installed as it's on back order, etc.), but building regs have been signed off, so they want to complete. Looks like I'll be living in a building site for a few weeks yet...
Here's the big kicker. The house was supposed to have an integral garage on one side and a driveway/parking area on the other. They forgot to build the driveway :P They got planning permission to do it and just plain neglected to build it. Luckily they have the groundworks team on site doing work on another plot, so they are rebuilding the curb and putting in my missing driveway end of this week/beginning of next week.
They want a snagging list within a week after legal completion, I've asked them if it might not be better to do it when they actually finish everything they already know is outstanding :P I've only really seen cosmetic issues though, things I could fix myself quite easily. I did appoint a snagging surveyor, but they seemed very reluctant to come out to Wales and in the end I had to cancel them and ask for a refund as they just wouldn't set a date for the inspection. Looks like I'm doing it all myself...0 -

We've used DWH's part exchange scheme. They offered us MoveMaker but we didn't want to deal with a chain, etc. so went for the part ex option.0 -
So we are due to get our notice of completion today! Complete on the 30th fingers crossed, as we are living with family so the sooner the better. Bellway have told us that if they and solicitors agree it could be even sooner. We mentioned this to our solicitors and he said because we are using help to buy them this might not be possible. Does anyone have any idea how quickly he help to buy equity loan funds can be released?
Good luck to everyone completing soon 😊0 -
We exchanged yesterday. End of March until house will be ready (assuming it's finished on time!)0

Finally completed this afternoon and the CEO of the builders has involved himself in my snagging. From 8am Monday morning I get a team in full time till my snagging list has been dealt with to my satisfaction.0

Not horrendous, just veeeeerrrryyyyyyyy dddrrrraaaaaawwwwnnnnnnn oooouuuuutttttttt
I'm in now, I'm happy, just need to get the bathrooms sorted to satisfaction now. The builder has been plagued with shoddy subcontractors etc., but at least they're admitting it and not taking a 'it's been signed off by building control, so tough luck' stance. They want to make things right, just a shame they've left it so late...0 -
We reserved a TW house today in Leicester. Really really happy with it. it's a long wait for it to be built as we have been told May, although they are currently laying the foundation's so works underway.
We got a great deal. They are paying stamp duty, 1k legal fees, and 13.5k of extras. We were just about to reserve a barret home we loved and had a greal deal on but in an area we didn't really want to live in. On Friday my right move alert popped up with this newly released plot in the area we really wanted. The house costs a little more and isn't as big as the Barratt, but location is everything to us with a 1 year old and high hopes for catchment areas.
A lovely lady with the same property on the estate showed us round her house today and we loved it. We were surprised by the size as we expected smaller from the promo photo's. So we snapped it up.
The property also comes with fiber broadband already in place unlike the one we nearly went for. So not back to the dark ages.
Going to be a really long wait ☺0 -
Notice to complete will be tomorrow (NHBC has signed the house off) house visit on Wednesday and fingers crossed we complete sometime after the 28th! I can't wait to get into our beautiful home!0
