My OH swears to god the local cats haven't come anywhere near our garden since he weed around the perimeter after a night out
Personally I think the cat that was coming in and using or garden as a little tray may be in little cat heaven.
God bless men0 -

That's where I'd like all cats to be  - I agree with Tom_Jones0 -
Best solution I have found is to let an old tea bag dry out, spray it well with Deep Heat / Ralgex and bury it just under the surface.
It lasts quite a while to.0 -

PLEASE don't do this! A friend's cat died after it was sprayed by some buffoon with washing up water. It could not be stopped from trying to clean itself and was killed by the chemicals
Not that it meant anything to the people who did it. They simply shrugged their shoulders and said 'well it shouldnt have come in my garden', very helpful. How about doing something to shoo it out, then? Clapping your hands, hissing or similar should do it. Simple.0 -

Shooing/clapping or hissing? Does that stop the cat returning? Certainly not. All it does is chase it away at that particular time. I have two bunnies and hate the fact that a cat could come into my garden (a garden where I don not want cats to be) and worry or even attack my rabbits. If a cat is harmed because it enters my property so be it. It shouldn't be there in the first place.
I do not detest cats but I don't want one as a pet nor do I want one in my gardens.0 -

Well that's between you and your conscience.
Presumably it's also okay to kill or injure a small child that climbs over a fence to get back a ball that they themselves have kicked over? I do not have a small child nor do I want one in my garden but they do arrive there now and then - what should I do?
As it happens hissing will see cats off permanently, so long as it's done properly. If the cat knows that the hissing or spray of water originates from a particular person then they will not be scared off. They will simply avoid that person when they see them so they will continue to do their business when that person is not present. If they do not know where the hissing or water is coming from then they will be confused and will avoid the garden altogether.0 -

How would you feel if I brought my rabbits into your garden without your permission and let them chew your flowers,, and dig them up and do their business on your grass. You wouldn't like it because you choose not to have rabbits in your garden.0 -

TBH you'd be doing me a favour if you bought some rabbits into my garden and let them chew on the weeds
However, presuming for a minute that you weren't doing me a favour, would you mind if I were to shoot your rabbits?0
