    Hi everyone,

Back home now. Had a lovely little break, mainly popping into English Heritage places and doing lots of walking. Had great weather so was sitting out with the wine last night at the hotel. It is fairly chilly at home tonight though.
Got a couple of ready meals to put in the oven so not cooking!

Well done on the wins FF.

Evening peeps after a dull morning had a lovely sunny afternoon. I am getting paranoid because of that slug. Been out checking about every hour lol. Hate the blooming things. Can't believe I had one in the kitchen. Still trying to figure out how it got in. I leave the door open a lot on warm days and it was just inside the door so just wondering. Glad you had a nice time shiels . Wont be long till your silver wedding then? Well done on wins ff. Enjoy your raspberries and ice cream alfie. Hope everyone has a nice evenig.

Ho everyone. Seems all had a good weekend, certainly great weather. We have been out and about with GKs. So not on Internet for a couple of days. That's ok until you open email and see how many there are to go through.

Sorry to hear you had your road up Sheils hope it's back to normal now. Sounds as though you had a great night away.

Sylvia hate it when there's vandalism to the car. It's so expensive and unnecessary.

Rose two years ago we had a slugs problem. They seemed to have invaded the whole back garden and came into a room at the back of the house. Didn't go away until it was colder again. Agree with you not a pleasant experience.

Well done on your wins FireFly.

Hi Jane good luck comping. Just enter what you can and forget.

Hope everyone has a good and lucky week.

Evening again peeps. Neighbours hubby said it is time we got the fruit off the Pear and Plum trees. So tomorrow I am off up a ladder picking lol. His wife makes pear and plum jam/jelly with it and it is fab. Also another neighbour who is fab with pastry makes tarts. So have to get saved up jars out of cupboard to wash and sterilize. I only have two as I do not really use a lot of jam but some of the small tarts other neighbour makes are always wellcome and I can freeze them. They are fab warmed up with some cream. It wont be long before cold weather comes in and I can pay them back with soup etc. Only thing I can do in summer is big BBQ we have but we all have our different skills. Also can make stovies which a lot of the older peeps say I can make better than them lol.

Just had a phone call from dils mum. She told me her ds and dil and gd have now secured their first house. They move in with everything going ok at the end of next month. So asked her what do they need and she said they have been saving very hard and have all the basics. She is buying them couches for the living room and dil is getting them a stand for tv etc. So said to her I have just won a surround sound tv system do you think they would like it . He was over the moon. I offered it as he would not take any payment for a couple of floors he sorted for me and also a few jobs in my kitchen. He is a fab joiner. He will not leave a job untill it is perfect. So as they only have the usual tv that most of us have I am quite willing to give it to him. Surround sound is wasted on me and son went out and bought one a month or two back before he left. Once they can afford a mortgage I know it is hard to afford everything else so I am quite happy to help family especially with the now inflated deposit. I used to think it was hard but nowadays it is nearly impossible. Then you have to factor in how can I sort this and how can I sort that, I paid £8000 for the house I stay in it is now worth silly money. I struggled to pay it in the first 5/6 years but nowadays I could cash it in and live the high llife for a long while. But kept my son and paid the mortgage after his dad did a runner when he was 6. So he can do what ever and keep his family when they are older. Wouldn't dream of cashing it in but he might when I am a bit old and senile lol. Really he wont but he can do whatever he wants with it I wont be here.
