Maybe you should update your sticky at the top of the main board so more compers are made aware of this rule. I have been a member for many years and I only learned of this rule today. 99% of compers must break it everyday by compying and pasting chunks of comp text - if all their posts were removed the comp board would be bare - or people would abide by the rules!

I get the feeling I've missed something here. What rule is being broken where?

I thought the threads that vanished did so because it was compers from the boards posts on facebook that were being commented on in a negative fashion.

I think if you want to hook up and make fun of other compers then MSE is not the place to do this. Get a room and take if to FB/TW or elsewhere. There are lots of things I say to my FB mates in PM's that I would never post on MSE. This is just my opinion btw and I didn't report you guys either. Too busy comping!

Apparently compers shouldn't be copying and pasting texts from sites but writing what the comp involves in their own words. Take a look at this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5413151

Looks like 99% of comp posts are breaking the rules!

Ah right I remember this it comes up every so often. You do find that even if the op only posts comp links the next post down will have at least C&P the prize details. We all need to collect our thanks somehow.

I still think the issue with the threads with the sob stories was when it was people from here having their posts re-posted.

As someone mentioned on a previous thread, if folks were offended by us ribbing someone then they seriously need to take a look at what they are writing on public domains for us to be able to do that.

Apparently not....we think it may be because we copied and pasted from the public domains, which is not allowed in here.

Today 2000 comps were posted tomorrow there will be 2 :rotfl:

Indeed - just saying that is probably why the threads were getting reported and the comping threads don't.

It is a little odd given they are prepared to post on facebook using their real names but object on here when it is user names. Except for me of course I am really Mrs Bot.

Never totally got the locked/removed rules clear as to which was applicable when. There was a whole series of "is Ed really dead" threads ages ago some locked some gone.

Thank you Glad but maybe you could jolt everyones memories because I certainly had no idea about the rule until today so I must have constantly broken it since being a member.
