Try an ad in a newsagent's window?
Do you need someone who knows about gardening, or can you supervise closely?
Trouble is, I really want someone who comes recommended. If it's just some random bod, I'd be rather nervous about whether he'd do a good job, and nervous about letting him in in the first place.
I need brawn work, really, but ideally someone who knows how to dig, ie. that you don't just dig the weeds into the ground!
Digging, raking and levelling, covering with weed membrane, and lugging some fairly heavy rocks into position, and moving large pots of plants around.
It's a small area, so would probably only take 2or 3 days, and once it's done, I could cope with it, and get on with what I want done.
The other problem is that I keep having periods of feeling ill, so nothing gets done then!
If I was physically like I was a few years ago, I'd have just got stuck in and done it myself.
Not to worry. Once I'm feeling ok, I'll sort something, as it's getting silly now!(I just lurve spiders!)

Any ideas for a cheap way to get broadband for 2 weeks whilst you wait for the delivery date of the ordered service?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. A 30 day rolling sim with a load of data (20/50GB) and use a phone (or mifi) as a hotspot? (And refrain from watching streaming tv for the fortnight).
WE have 2 days from the end of BT until the start of virgin in a weeks time, we will manage with our phones.I think....0 -

The Wide Awake Club met up with the I Give Up Club....
It started at 5am when I was awoken by an unknown alarm ... then it stopped. Alarm woke me up, it stopping then made me wonder "what was that then?" ... there was "strange light" so I looked from the bedroom window and one of the cars in the car park had its alarm lights flashing incessantly... so I half gave up, but thought I'd try again to sleep.
Next there was the sound of heavy/weighted plasticware scraping on the patio, so I peeked outside and saw nothing, but noticed it's VERY windy out there.
So I gave up. Put the kettle on and popped outside for a cig.0 -
It is definitely windy out there this morning.
I was woken in the early hours of the morning by what I think was a helicopter flying overhead. That's the problem... asleep lightly enough to be woken up by a noise, but also tired enough that I had no energy to investigate the noise... then before you know it you've chalked up yet another disturbed night's sleep. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Any freshly-turned earth in the garden?
That's a point! Any bits of bodies I could stick in my garden? The police'd dig it all up, then!
Hmm, slight flaw with that. They might think I'd done the murder!(I just lurve spiders!)

I've used a hotspot, although admittedly, that was just for the occasional 3 or 4 hours, rather than for a stretch of time, but it might work out the easiest way for you, too, depending on which hotspots are available.
Otherwise, how friendly are you with your neighbours?.............:D
I did check the wifi networks that my phone could pick up, but they were all locked. They are only moving in at the weekend, so don't know the neighbours yet.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
