I can't believe that the word "whether" has to have a place in that last sentence Lydia. The very best of luck to your son. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Thanks viva. It's only an "officially whether". It depends on three things: whether his current teachers think he'll be able to cope with the A level courses (which they do), whether they can be fitted into the timetable blocks (which they can) and whether his reasons for picking them, which he'll have to talk about at the interview, are sensible (which they are). The interview's also meant to be a mini practice for uni interviews in two years' time.
I explained to him that, in life in general, interviewers expect you to have prepared answers to questions that you might reasonably have expected to be asked, so he should think in advance how he's going to answer when they ask him why he's picked his subjects. He said, "I'd better think of something better to say than 'I'm inept at all the others,' then." I think he's got a bit to learn about "selling himself" at interview! :rotfl:Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
"Britain's youngest grandmother has spoken of her shock over learning that her 12-year-old daughter had given birth.
The 26-year-old woman said she had been devastated by the news but intended to support her daughter and baby grandson."
At 26, I had been a parent for just 2 and a half years! I feel too young to be a grandparent at almost 47, let alone 26.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

My mother was a midwife in the 1950s. She came across a family in which a girl had had a baby girl at 15. The baby girl grew up and in due course had a baby girl of her own, again at 15. When my mother saw them, these three were 45, 30, and 15, and all pregnant at the same time.
She also came across a woman who had some kind of hyper-ovulation thing going on - she'd had 5 pregnancies, from which she'd produced 3 pairs of twins and 2 sets of triplets, so 12 children in all.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? In response to a post about a school parents' evening that has since been deleted...
Where we used to live, our neighbours were a couple, one of about 30 and the other 18 and still in 6th form. The older one told me that his partner's mum had told him about the younger one's upcoming parents' evening at 6th form college, and said "There's no point in me going - he doesn't live with me any more. You'd better go." So he did.
I've had various relatives see me at parents' evenings - cousins and older siblings and grandparents and stepparents and guardians - but never a partner. That would feel very weird to me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? DS1 started secondary school when we were 37, we didn't think that was so young until he told us some of his new friends had parents older than his grandparents.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Possibly when parents stop doing things for them?
This weekend's crisis was their flight home being cancelled. That was quite a sensible request for help as OH has status with the airline, so he could get them rebooked through a priority phone line. Luckily for them as they were anxious to return to work on schedule. Sometimes on holiday you just hope you can have an extra day at the airlines expense!
In their absence we went to view the flat they have rented. Luckily they don't have a cat as there would be little room to swing it!
That aside it is actually very nice and they have a relatively large balcony with plants and a BBQ.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I might have to get someone, as mine is in a right state.
The reason I've not done it before is because on the chemical cleaning stuff, it says not to use it on a surface with a heating element, and there's one in the base, which is the dirtiest part, (apart from the wire shelves ). The sides are self-cleaning.
My wrists won't stand up to a lot of scrubbing now, so it's all got left.
That's also the reason why the insides of my windows are so gruesome too, but I can't get anyone in to do those as there's so much stuff in the rooms.
I also need someone to do a lot of digging in the garden, but just don't know how to find someone.(I just lurve spiders!)
