I spent many a school holiday in Buxton and Manchester and seeing the splendor of Derbyshire and Cheshire.

I did part of my D of E in Derbyshire, and it was absolutely beautiful!
However, I have been to Bradford and so can confirm that it's grim up (some of the) north.

Bradford is horrible, whilst parts of Leeds (next door) are lovely :)

Well I feel like a right muppet.

Dropped the motorbike off it's sidestand twice today. First time unscathed, picked it up, put it back on the stand, and then 'bang'.... second time broke a couple of lights.

It was in neutral (schoolboy error) and there must have been an almost imperceptible downhill gradient. Hamish you idiot....

Bl00dy thing is pushing 300KG, and damned near impossible to pick up again, especially in confined spaces.

Time for some Ibuprofen and bed.

Ouch H. Hope you are not too bruised.

Still, it is better that you learn out how to stand up your bike (waits for michaels to jump on that as a double entendre) in the comfort of your garage than in the muddy ruts of the African bush (not convinced the second part of that sentence is any better).

Cheers viva, not too bruised but definitely sore from trying (and failing) to catch it on the way down and then wrestling it up.

And to keep the entendre brigade happy, it wasn't even in the garage, but up the back alley leading to the garden. :o

So to be clear you put it up the back alley to get some practice in for some African bush.

Rain, rain, rain today. At least I don't live down south, they've got some nasty storms coming their way.

It's my wedding anniversary this weekend. 17 years. As the old joke has it, I'd be up for parole by now.

she is not on the Huguenot (French Protestant) church list like the others in her family of French people that where forced to leave France or be murdered which they where in there thousands by the obsessive Catholic regime at the time..17th Century and by 1901 all religion was abolished and no longer to this day is taught in local schools only private ones. directed to Pasturesnew....regards Dianne

It's amazing what a quick Google turns up:

Thanks for that Generali but look on the thread closer.....I am Woollie and one other is my new contact in New Zealand also a 4th great grandad to William Woollams and Mary Ann Aumonier one of the others is a lost relative my husbands Fathers Sisters siblings...think that makes maybe cousins and 2nd and cousins.
The new relative in NZ pointed out that Woollams Avenue was in memory of Frederick Woollams last son of William(Born 1827-Died 1897) for all he done to the new town of Coromandel where he was an early settler land owner retailer hotel proprietor and post-master of the town(I guess it all started off with gold mining)
Its an interesting family well the past ones are!!!!
    regards Dianne Woollams

Spirit talking about the greenhouse...we bought one in Bexhill the kind like a tent was on half price offer at the time and it looked great when we had the erection day here in France....When the winds blows it is like being in a tent...I would never never ever recommend one now. Life is a learning curve and lesson fully learned...have a proper one!!!. Regards Dianne
