This should help fund their efforts to close the gap between disadvantaged children, like yours, and children with parents who earn more than £16,190 a year.
Also children in this group are treated differently in for example school league table statistics which I believe should be to the school's advantage.
DD1's school's financial plan includes an average parental contribution of 240 per student per year - so much for free state education.I think....0 -

I scrub up well enough - and don't look like I'm casing joints
Anyway, if the lights are on .... no need to knock on the door ... phone client for next instruction.
I assume you found them already?
I suppose once you know what here is someone in, there is no need for an explaination.vivatifosi wrote: »Silver, for your distant parents,is there a neighbour you could contact?
I had agreed with OH that we wouldn't phone the neighbour until this morning.
Made contact in the evening. Turns out she had been taken out for the day by my cousin (who she sees maybe twice a year). Hadn't checked her answerphone and didn't hear my last call as she was washing her hair! Genuinely remorseful that she forgot Anniversary, tried to make it clear that it was the worry that was the issue.
Cousin's reward will be that I've now remembered that she lives 15 minutes away in case of future alert!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I know school tables quote the percentage of pupils on FSM. Not sure that all parents view it as a positive.
Legally that parental contribution is voluntary. As such it attracts tax relief, so include it on your tax return.
DS1's school used to ask for a voluntary contribution of £40 a month (may be higher now, he left 8 yrs ago). They made it clear that if everyone eligible for FSM let the school know they would get the pupil premium that was at least as valuable a contribution.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It must have been very worrying for you. I'm so pleased that it was just something very mundane. Dull news is good news.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
No tree, no decorations..
Actually I do have some plants in the lounge now - just not "Christmasy" ones.
My MSE-blagged Perennial Collection, 20 bare root plants for a quid, arrived yesterday and needed potting up fairly quickly. They need to be kept in frost-free conditions until they are nicely established and the frosts have finished before I can acclimatise them then bung them out in the garden - so they are potted up and in crates on my hearth, since that's stone, not carpet, so less likely to get damaged by them being there.
I've just got some bulbs (which came with them as part of the blag) left to put straight out in the beds - when the latest heavy rain shower stops.0 -
Michaels, a challenge for you! Quidco are offering a double the difference deal if another website is offering higher cashback rates. Can you get them to pay for your entire shop?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Happy Christmas DG. I am still feeling guilty every day that stuff I said before was part of the reason for you posting less so it is great to hear from you.I think....0 -
I have made a laminated sign. One side says:Doglet has been fed

You can probably guess what the other side says. This is necessary because the dog manages to look like she hasn't been fed, even if she has just been.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
