A local feature of our train service is that people keep throwing themselves under them....an old school friend of James did just that at the weekend.
That is 3 people who have felt so bleak and forced to do that this year on our little local line, two of them youngsters. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

That method of killing oneself is so counter-intuitive to every basic instinct........ how utterly, horrendously, irreparably awful must they be feeling, to do it.(I just lurve spiders!)

The whole community is in shock to be honest, two of our young ones so desperate they felt they had no other choice. The other one was someone with dementia who wandered onto the track by mistake/design...they are not sure which but his dementia was not so advanced it rendered him in a permanent confuzzled state. We made it! However it made lots of really strange banging noises as it was being driven. Cue strange/concerned looks from the passengers, who obviously, given this is England, still didn't talk to each other. Much better to share a raised eyebrow.
Is this a design feature of the new trains?
I think the newest trains are noisier (as well as having fewer seats) than the old 'new' trains.
Both sorts of 'new' trains, sometimes something makes one of the panto-graphs drop which makes a banging sound, occasionally the drivers mention that this happens and it is nothing to worry about.
I have seen a train go bang in the station at city thameslink when switching from pantograph to live rail and they was both a big flash and a burning smell - they tried raising the pantograph again to check it really was a problem and the second bang was even louder. At that point it was everyone off, train broken down.I think....0 -

.
They also make other noises too, like boo, and hiss.
You'll find that most of those are behind you, though.(I just lurve spiders!)

There are lots of ways to do away with yourself painlessly and without greatly troubling other people, but most of those require a significant degree of preparation. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Parents have gone on a day out today to Thursford for the Christmas spectacular, their first day out for ages as dad hasn't been well. They had not been on the coach for very long at all when mum's mobile rang with the horrible news that dad's brother, my uncle, had died in the early hours.
He's bearing up ok at the moment, no choice really when you are on a coach full of other people. We made it! That's really rough.
Trapped on a coach full of jolly people having a jolly good time.
Would have been bad enough news if he'd been at home.
Would he have been able to have been dropped off somewhere and get a taxi back?(I just lurve spiders!)
