Maggie , are you feeling any better? My stomach problems are much better since I've been on the higher dose of meds, and to my surprise the pain and bloating lower down are much better too!

Glad your stomach probs are better - long may that continue! :)

I've had a recurrence of the diverticulosis and am very uncomfortable. Not helped by I had a fall last Tuesday. OH was trying to help me on with my boots, and stupidly I wasn't sitting down, just on one leg and supported by walking stick while he put on other foot... He just pushed too hard. Fell over backwards, landed on my a*se, head went back too and cracked on floor. :( Can barely get in and out of bed and walk, using crutches - difficult when need loo suddenly due to the medicine! (sorry TMI)

Suspect won't be able to get to caravan for Xmas as can't sit for any length of time. :( 3 hours in car prob too long unless make big improvement over next few days.

Since then got copy of my GPs letter to DWP (via ATOS). It most certainly doesn't say what the Decision Maker says it says! So over next couple of days have to get my application in to the Tribunal Service. Sheesh, if these people didn't lie so much they'd save money. Tribunals are costly. 64% of face to face claims are won for claimant at Tribunal. Be cheaper to make sure that Law is followed initially and not put claimants through the stress as well.... Except some people give up after Mandatory Reconsideration (Hmm, wonder why they brought that in! ;) ) and can't face going to Tribunal. I'll be taking it all the way though, as it's my last chance. !!!!!! I'm 68, it's cruel to put me through this - only missed out on keeping my indefinite DLA by 4 months. :(

For some reason that makes me think of Ken Dodd's 3 legged chicken joke.

Oh Maggie. So sorry to hear that. It sounds awful. Glad to hear you're not letting it make you give up, though.

    Sending hugs: hugging.gif

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    David Cook
    .

A few years back, the winner of American Idol was David Cook. I wonder if he would have had to pick a different name if David Cook didn't become David Essex. Perhaps David Texas.

Pastures, I saw this article this morning. As you've tracked so many of your family and are interested in them beyond BMDs, I didn't know if you'd come across anyone that would qualify:

If not, I still thought you'd find the story interesting.

    Cheers. I'll check it out.

I don't have any knowledge of how anybody died, to be honest. Those stories will be where it's known how people died and the families have carried the stories forward.

    Interesting though.

You have to have really got married/had kids for it to even be remembered. A single man coming home from the war, then dying by 1921 of something to do with his wounds just wouldn't be on anybody's radar.

Maggie, I'm so sorry to hear of all the trouble (and your accident).

I went to Tribunal some years back with my aunt. She's a similar age to you (67). The Tribunal chair (judge?) was absolutely furious with them (this was pre ATOS) for not acknowledging her case and found in her favour straight away. I acted as her advocate.

It is definitely worth having people go with you and I found them hugely supportive. I will hope and wish the best for you. Since then, my aunt has gone through the move to the new system. I don't know whether it was because she had won the first tribunal, but they paid out straight away without querying. She has COPD and fibromyalgia.

I would send you virtual hugs, but I'm kind of with Pastures on the hug thing.

    Thanks ivyleaf. :A

Own stupid fault really! :o Should have sat down, but chair in bedroom covered in OH's clothes, dressing table stool covered in hats, and end of bed covered in my wooly stuff I'm trying to keep moths out of. So thought walking stick would be sufficient support. (Roll eyes smiley) Foolish as my vestibular dysfunction is getting worse after a period of about 10 years (?) of very slowly improving. Have to say that I think all the stress we've had this year prob has something to do with it... 5 deaths over around 3 months in the summer, with my ATOS assessement after death 2 I think. Just hoping 2017 is a bit kinder! So much so that I wrote 2 cheques this morning that I dated 2017! :o Fortunately OH always checks my cheques as I'm always worried about making a mistake - other day wrote 1916 by mistake!

However bad things are, just bear in mind that a man aged 101 has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
