re. a dog that barks at fireworks when at home but not when taken out, maybe it's a "What's that noise in MY territory? Woof, woof, woof" thing?
I thought that too. "There's a threat. I need to make it clear that this house is defended by a dog, so don't mess with us here."Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

No idea, obviously a lot.
However, woodworking is very labour intensive on that scale, and pretty skilled work, so you can't expect them to do it for nothing!
What amazed me from the other day was someone chucking out a load of silver plated cutlery, and some of it was beautiful and unusual! There was even a Georgian spoon in there! All Sarah had to do was polish it up and she sold it!
And someone else getting rid of a load of china/crockery and Sarah found a Clarice Cliffe soup bowl and matching ladle amongst it all!
Don't people look at what they're chucking into landfill?
And why take it to landfill? The crockery and the cutlery could have gone to a charity shop.
Having said that, I've come back from my tip sometimes with more than I've taken there! :rotfl:
Suitcases, beer glasses, a Lloyd Loom lookalike laundry basket, a little brown attachè case full of those little dolls in National Costume, loads Of things I've forgotten about, and the Pièce de Rèsistance, a deco cheval mirror, which is in my bedroom even now. That was the most expensive item.........£12.(I just lurve spiders!)

I'm sorry, PN, but it's too late now.
Next, you'll let slip that you read the Telegraph and vote Tory.
Seriously, there are some amazing static caravans around N Norfolk. Some on the cliffs overlooking the sea are simply brilliant! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Woke early enough to see the ISS going over at 6.11am. When it got lighter we saw we'd had a hard frost. First this year. That'll finish off the nasturtiums at the lottie.

I've seen people at the dump throwing away a *much* better TV than the one I had, Sadly, too late to stop them throwing it into a skip.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Oooh! Yes! I saw it too! Only half of this transit, though, because I didn't want to go outside, so I waited until it came into view from my bedroom window!(I just lurve spiders!)

Saw it from bedroom window, but I think it disappeared into cloud before it actually disappeared IYKWIM. Just so magical to see it. And even more so now after hearing Tim Peake speak about it. That was really amazing - he's so charismatic. On the front row - he looked straight at me sat in my wheelchair and smiled. :j0 -
Right. Well, they wanted £700 for the work they did on the table. They provided the table top.
And here it is, still on their website, so Sarah didn't take it away/pay for the work at all. Looks like they kept it to sell ... and still haven't.
It's yours for a snip at just £1,250

Sheesh, that's a really stupid price! For a hideous piece of furniture! Puke.0
