Not a chance, I've been out looking for some decent light in which to photograph the lakes and/or fells.

There was loads of c stuff in Hayes Garden Centre, Ambleside, when I last went there on September 25th - waaaay too early IMO.
I mean, they never had any Halloween nor Bonfire Night stuff in beforehand so what happened to that?

I have not seen the deleted posts, but I think it is time to involve the local community policing team and/or the local councillor in the situation regarding burglaries, theft of items left for charity collection and dangerous play activities (eg under cars). This is escalating quickly and someone needs to take charge.

No, I'm slogging over my Mandatory Reconsideration letter that I have to get posted by Thursday to make sure it arrives on 21st October. :( At least one point of Law involved over the "Moving around activity" - assessor said (and decision maker accepted) that because I can mobilise inside house I can walk more than 20 metres but less than 50 metres. In fact the walking has to be how you'd manage outside, including such things as kerbs, though not steps or steep slopes.

And worrying over all the med stuff that's going on. Provisionally diagnosed with Diverticulitis by St Thomas', made it to see GP on Wed. Had blood test for ovarian cancer, and prob have to go for colonoscopy to rule out other stuff. Phone call yesterday from Royal Hospital to say I'll have a telephone consultation with a nurse on Tuesday afternoon and then they'll decide what further tests I need.

Feel pretty permanently sick and gut pain, plus have lost 5 Kilo since around June I think. I'm not trying to lose weight, just feel grim and finding it difficult to eat due to feeling bloated and no appetite. :(

Very difficult doing the PIP MR stuff when I feel so ill most of the time. Can't get any extension for it either. Only 4% of claimants get award at MR, so will prob have to go to Tribunal. If have to do that will prob try and get professional help, as this is my only chance to retain ability to have Motability car in future.

Talking of Motablity, car has to be returned on or before 1st November.

Re moving around, it has to be not just able to walk 20m but to be able to do it repeatedly, reliably and something else (brain fog!), so you may be able to do it once but if you have to do it more than once and struggle, then you qualify. It also comes down to how long too, if it takes you more than twice the time of a non disabled person, they have to take that into account.

I can get around the house ish, without the chair (chair wouldn't fit anyway) albeit with hanging onto walls, doors, crutch, people etc most days but can't get around outside without the chair....not that any walk in my house is 20m anyway, house is teeny tiny.

I hate that people have to go through this, especially when there is a downturn in health. You feel bad enough as it is having to almost beg for it whilst others who may not be quite being truthful, appear to have no problems at all but with new symptoms and stresses there, it's horrible.

Sorry if not making sense, brain isn't quite working tonight.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The something else is safely! :rotfl:

An extra problem I have is the so called assessor keeps going on about the MSO (musculoskeletal observations) show that I have normal grip in hands and normal movement with no muscle wastage in both upper and lower limbs. I've been in touch with Dr Shepherd (MEA medical advisor) who tells me that muscle wasting is rare in ME and usually only affects the severely affected who are bed-bound and/or housebound. In fact assessor uses the MSO in about 5 of the descriptors to lose me points. She was nice as pie on the day... Oh, and she says I don't need a wheelchair because it's a borrowed one and wheelchair wasn't prescribed by a medical professional.

As you may have gathered I'm part of the wide awake club tonight, having slept most of the day due to general sleep problems - got out of kilter on the sleep wake cycle.

I mean, they never had any Halloween nor Bonfire Night stuff in beforehand so what happened to that?

The awful thing is that shop shelf space is so valuable, that shops simply wouldn't put C-stuff up this early if people didn't buy it.

I know there's an element of chicken and egg - ie, do people buy it on impulse, because it's there, or is it there because there's a real demand for it?
Probably a combination of both, but it still remains that if people didn't buy it, it wouldn't be taking up shelf space.

The other sad thing is that some people must buy completely new stuff, decorations etc., every year, because there's so much out there.

And for the most part, it's all tat.

It's the C-food that makes me feel the saddest. I can understand some food being bought early....Dundee cake in a tin with a use-by date in January, etc., but for the most part it is relatively perishable. That must mean that C-treats start getting eaten well before the season should really start, ie mid-December. That's such a shame, as it deprives children of that sense of festive season and anticipation of special goodies that you only get at C.

It's bad enough that you can get turkey and satsumas all-year-round.
A bit like being able to get hot cross buns in October! Why not just sell the buns without the cross on them? Hot crossless buns! :D

It's so much better on the continent, at least in the countries I've been to at C, like Italy and Greece. C is there, but it's much more understated, and doesn't start so early. A bit like it used to be here. While I was there one year, at C, I wanted to buy a La Befana model, and I had to really hunt high and low.

In my AmDram, we've had to start rehearsing carols. :( It's gruesome! :(
