Sorry I haven't been around for a bit. Am not very well at the moment, and don't have the energy to post much. Plus can't hover on here without logging in.

Have caught up with the thread. Crumbs! Turn my back for five minutes and it all kicks off. Poor Gen. :(

I did wonder why why such a nice contentious thread as this is hidden from public view, like DT.

I have inadvertently hit the spam button many times, when thanking a post and then being too quick to click on the next page number! Always go back and unspam it, though. Plus a trigger-happy stylus has sometimes pressed the report button without meaning to, including reporting my own post a few times! :rotfl: Again, I always unreport them! At least, to continue reporting, you have to fill in a form, so you can't actually report unintentionally. Horrifying thought.

Have pressed the spam button for a few very obvious spam posts, you know, a newbie starting a thread advertising something with a link to a website, type thing. You get a lot of that in the Arms.

Anyway, I should point out that the amount of resurrection that goes on in the Arms and DT is unbelievable. Just saying. :D

By the way, thanks Yorkie, for the interesting info on how the site is run. Useful to know. It is a difficult conundrum for a site as big as this, especially when we're talking about threads that are really just social, and nothing to do with the money-saving aspect. We shouldn't forget that we are quite lucky to be here, really.

This amused me. For each of the strange names, you need to identify whether it is an obscure Pokemon or a celebrity baby:

I didn't think that some of the real names were that weird, eg Sonora and Seraphina,.
I mean, Seraphina is a perfectly acceptable name in Italy.

Seargeoh looks like a Gaelic spelling of Sergio! (Another Italian name!)

Band A? I thought only caravans were band A these days!
    Blimey.

Agreed. DS2 grotty student flat above a shop in a dodgy area is a band B.

My prediction for 2017. A new trend will emerge, naming kids after pokemon.

Weren't they worked out on a national basis so some parts of the country are all As and Bs and other parts all Gs?
    I think....

Mine is a band A property despite being a 3 bed semi. Think it is because at the time of valuations these houses were worth less than the value of a 1 bed house due to being unmortgageable.

Still can't get a mortgage on these houses as they are of non standard construction (pre fab) and were only designed to be a temporary measure to ease the post war shortage. The only recent sale was about 10 or so years ago, cash purchase for a third of the normal price of a 3 bed semi, he was a builder so he painstakingly replaced the concrete slabs with bricks whilst living in it and was then able to sell it to someone who needed a mortgage.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Nope, they were worked out on a simple scale of assumed capital values;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_Tax#Current_bands

That does mean that some areas will have a higher proportion of Band As and others a higher proportion of Band Gs, but that's purely down to the poshness, or lack of it, for each area.

I think we are agreeing with each other. If they ever do a revaluation it will be even more extreme!
    I think....
