3 strikes and out rule. The other minor infringements in the past all count apparently.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. That's alarming. Makes me wonder how thin the ice is that we're skating on. Over in the Arms, there's a number of people who're also gone.
There's also been a whole thread that closed and then came back. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

They told me in the MoT in 2016 they were low.
That's why I rushed to get them checked before setting out on my regular round trip .... I was surprised he didn't say "OMG ILLEGAL!"
I was warned at a previous year's MOT that my tyres were getting to the end of their life. I do <1000 miles a year so didn't think much of it until the next MOT, when they failed because you could see the cord
I was soooo embarrassed, not to say horrified! I learnt that lesson properly. My boys are not allowed to swear in front of me even at the age of 22, 19 and 18.
Dad always hated the word 'cr a p'. We didn't ever countenance anything strongerI find it amusing that they use the correct punctuation in their texts even when the words are inappropriate. (eg !!!!!!?)
But of course! One has certain standards to uphold, after all0 -

Good luck with the review request.chewmylegoff Do try to be really careful about swearing in the children's hearing - you'll soon find that the words they pick up most readily are the ones you'd really rather they didn't use, at least in public
Yep, brother was frustratedly trying to do something with his daughter (my niece is now 3 and multi-lingual), when he said "F--- it" quietly. Of course, bat-eared niece heard it and went round repeating it for the next few minutes :rotfl:Youngest has just done his first solo train journey. Ok it was only to Ipswich and he was very anxious and eeky but he did it!

Am getting particularly fed up with this 'stuck' Windows 10 install, which I started off 10-11 hours ago.
In other news, I'm thinking of getting one of these spiraliser gadgets to make vegetable noodles. I had a meal with veg noodles yesterday and was pleasantly impressed with how it tasted.0 -

What sort of strikes?
I've not been PPR'd (to date), but I have had two posts removed in the past and been sent a "warning" PM from admin.
All the usual storm in a teacup/somebody not understanding stuff... which makes it so dictatorially annoying.0 -

It really does vary according to site, doesn't it?
I'm a mod on another forum and we are very clear about what is and is not acceptable on it in the site policies. It's a family-friendly site, and we don't stand for anyone trolling or flaming etc, nor swearing.
That being said, it usually takes repeated infringements before anyone gets anywhere near a 24h suspension. We tend to simply remove posts and inform the poster why that's happened.
Very occasionally we will remove a thread where it's got very confused (in order to split some posts out into another thread) or gone wholly off track in a not-nice way, and then put it back once cleaned up. More often we'll just lock the thread with an explanation of why we've done it.
The risk of this level of active moderation is that it takes the site owner into potential responsibility for posts made, whereas MSE is very passive and reactive and thus not likely to be liable for posts.0
