    Sorry :o

Don't know what happened to your quote function, but it wasn't my quote that you quoted, IYSWIM. :rotfl:

Regarding the woman spending her pension pot.......well, she'll have the memories of those holidays, and the experiences of them.

Much nicer than buying 'stuff' or just existing.

I'm finding I want far less stuff, but I crave experiences. The pleasure from acquiring 'stuff' is very fleeting, but the pleasure from experiences stays forever.
Plus you don't know for how long you'll be able to go on hols to far-flung places, so do it while you can! Then, when you're stuck in your bath chair, you'll have the memories and, more importantly, no regrets!

I smelt gas once... called out the Transco lot. Fella turned up and measured it .... then cut off the fire gas supply ... and said "I've no idea how you managed to smell that; it's not safe, but the reading was so miniscule it's unbelievable you detected it".

Part of my ASD is over-sensitivity to some smells.... I guess gas is one of them.

We believed we could smell Gas at our first house in Beddington bought for £4400 1969 we sold it in 2000 for £134,950 and just sold again 2016 £390,000...I digress......Gas 'man' came out do not remember which gang....could smell something but passed with flying colours....several years later it was stronger smell..called out again the Gas 'Man' pointed out the little flower bed where the smell was and also mentioned it was clogged with worms like thousands....arrrrr that'll be the gas worms dear!!!!Yep dug up rotten pipe very rotten....replaced pipe and all fixed...in no time at all the worms moved elsewhere too....BW Dianne

I have driven an automatic car ever since I passed my test in a manuel...1976ish...we bought a manuel car when we moved here Dec 2014 to my regret but I did try to drive it but felt like I did at 17 years as a learner. Today around 14.00 Husband said lets go to Civray and have a look at some Auto Cars....the rest is history.....:j

I know that feeling well, especially being in/out of clients vehicles frequently.

Our super-dooper top of the range steam generator iron tripped the rcd today.

Good news is we bought in on 5th August last year.

Bad news is we only paid £60 for a £250 iron so I bet mr T Direct will just offer us our money back rather than a repair/equivalent replacement (it was end of line hence the price).
    I think....

Other bad news was as my train let St Pancras today it stopped then limped into Kentish town - after many promises that we would be on the move (always in another 20 minutes) and 1 hour later they then told us all to get off and couldn't tell us if all trains were cancelled or only our one so tube back to London then a very overcrowded train to Hatfield - plus of course my phone battery died. Home eventually at 8.15 and I have an early meeting tomorrow :(

Edit: And the worst thing - I finished my book on the way in this morning so for nearly 3 hours all I had to 'read' was the metro
    I think....

Anyone who knows about the herts library ordering policy:

I started reading a series of 6 books, having read the first three it now appears they do not hold (electronically) books 4 and 5 but do have book six. Seems like a bit of an odd way to purchase?

Sometimes they can't get the digital rights. It also happens sometimes with paper books if, say, book six became really popular, then the reprints start from book 1.

What's the series, I'll try to look into.

I think you mentioned having an ereader rather than a tablet, but if you have the latter you could download some magazines from zinio for backup reading.
