TBH, when I want to cool down I put the air con on. Works every time. It's great, a continuous blast of cooled air that may well be 20C cooler than the ambient temperature. Begone 40C+ days, welcome to Generali's 22C house.
I did think of sitting in the car, air-con on full blast. But the mpg would drop.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You have to ask yourself two questions:
- can I afford it?
- am I worth it?
As a rule, it's not as if you'd do this every day of the year, it's a one off. So why not. That's why I bought my fizzy pop ... because I am worth it
The point of skimping on some things is so you can "throw worries to the wind" for other things.0 -
Sun's gone from the patio doors wall, so now there's 1' of shade outside the doors - and a handy 3' square of shade tucked up the corner. It's also still perpetually breezy here, so if I wish I've now got an outside spot in the shade and breeze
There's enough of a breeze entering the patio doors to blow the bottom portion of my long curtains up in the air by 1' a couple of times a minute... but it's mostly just keeping the hot air circulating rather than being a cooler breeze.0 -

We change from an indicated 100 miles from 22kwh to an indicated 85.

How pee'd off would you be?
I just loaded zoopla to see if a particular house sale appeared on their yet; it didn't, but I thought I'd look anyway .... when I suddenly discovered another neighbour's house had sold. I also know they've not moved. So, there was "something odd" about that sale. He told me they were owners over a year ago, so he couldn't have been renting it. But, definitely the same people there today as have always been there and a spurious sale from 3 months ago showing up.
How pee'd off would you be if you were the sale I was looking for if you saw that and realised:
3 beds + 2 baths + semi-detached + 2 parking spaces + reasonable sized garden at £Xk
Yours:
2 bed + 1 bath + mid terrace + 1 parking spot + dinky garden at the same price?0 -
It's too breezy to sit outside. Hot inside ... but too windy out there - hair blows up in the air.0

But if there was something dodgy about the sale then it is almost certainly not market price either so not something to worry about in terms of what you paid.I think....0
