We've got Joe Biden in town this week. I just walked down the street where he must be visiting today. There were about 30 motorbikes, 2 riot vans, a dog van, about 10 police cars, 4 paramedic ambos, a fire truck and a couple of shady looking vehicles with warnings on the side not to try to enter through the window (I've seen the sign before, I think Bad Things happen).

    Nuts.

It's been a glorious day today, warm and sunny. Not bad for winter! My week is going really well too.

I'm writing a report on unconventional weapons: nukes, lqndmines and cluster munitions which I'm going great guns (pun intended) on. We've got a meeting of our Ethics Committee in a couple of weeks and preparations for that are going very well too.

Digital thermometer indoors (patio doors have been wide open for 2 hours) is 82.4F/28C.

I've kept my side-window blind shut and kitchen blinds (for later when it gets round there).

It's a bit breezy though - opened the bathroom window upstairs to get/keep a through draught.

Yes lucky me, and I was thinking of cancelling right up to the last minute.

Think the cat missed me...picked him up from the cattery yesterday and he spent all night making sure I was still there by head butting me, purring loudly in my ear and wanting love. No idea what happened to this idea that a cat is an independent creature who doesn't need humans, I think I must have a dogcat, he hates being left alone, craves human attention (he follows me everywhere just like a dog) and is mostly very uncat like.

Very muggy overnight, blooming warm this morning, not much of a breeze coming in through the windows and although it takes a while for this house to heat up in the winter, it is a begger to get rid of heat in the summer.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Joe Biden is the spare, in case anything happens to Obama.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I've heard that hot drinks actually work to cool you down? I'm sceptical. All it does is steam up my glasses and draw a few more beads of sweat.
