On here? Not really. She does pop by every so often to say hello, but doesn't stay. I hope she is happy and well if she's lurking. She was having a tough caring role last time. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I did not realise scallions was a word used here. It is the word I hear when I go to America. I wonder if one is a new world member of the onion family. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Interesting analysis Spirit, thanks. The thing that surprised me most yesterday was how May signalled her intent for her tanks to occupy Nu Lab's centrist lawn, but Labour is too busy bickering to notice.
Her speech was a masterstroke. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Did you know, I found out the other day that scallions are actually different from spring onions.
Spring onions have a bulb at the end, whereas scallions are straight all the way down.
I'm sure you really wanted to know that!
You never know, it might one day be the million pound question on "Millionaire"!
(plus scallion being the US term)The Spirit family theory on why Boris got the Foreign office.
Mrs May wanted him inside the tent pi55ing out, rather than outside pi55ing in.
The two big foreign policy roles have been given to liam fox and david davies leaving Boris with advising us not to go to Turkey for our holidays or providing consular assistance to hungover teens in Magaluf. Should Americans be stupid enough to elect Trump, Mrs May need not make him her new bestie, but recognise the long lost family link Boris/Trump both being legends in their own minds and having carefully stage managed hair.
I expect Boris will spot his error in walking into a surgically castrated role by the morning. As he has had a few random shocks of late, he may grin and bear it until he creates a new scheme for a coup.
In the mean time the new PM for hard working families has given them a jolly smiley "Top bloke" to amuse them and make them feel listened to.I think....0 -
I always thiught it was the other way around

I'm not so sure, I think there may also be a bit of Boris campaigned for Brexit not because he wanted it but because he saw it as a route to no 10 so appointing him appeases brexiteers whilst actually putting someone at best ambivalent to brexit into one of the big three jobs.(I just lurve spiders!)

This is I think a more grown up version of the baby bird that was in our garden last year. It seems to have a mate and they are both pulling earth out of the raised beds in search of grubs.

"Scallions or Green Onions
Green onions and scallions are actually the same thing! They are either harvested very young from the regular bulb-forming onions we are familiar with, or they can come from other varieties that actually never form bulbs.
Scallions are long, with a white stem end that does not bulge out.
Spring Onions
Spring onions, on the other hand, look similar to scallions, but you'll notice that they have small onion bulbs at the base. These onions come from the varietals that produce bulbs and are basically more mature versions of scallions. They are planted as seedlings in the late fall and then harvested the next spring, thus the word "spring" in the name."

Not that it really matters, unless one is a connoisseur of the subtle differences in flavour that they might have!(I just lurve spiders!)

Green Woodpeckers - their main food is ants, so that's probably what they are digging for.0 -
Funnily enough, I was reading about them only the other day, can't remember why, now!
