You would be talking about DD2 there...the only saving grace is just like with the piano she doesn't actually enjoy it enough to practice without major threats.

Hahaha! Maybe if she were to practice more, she might not be so cringe-worthy! :rotfl:

Some day she will discover the saxophone and see the light :D

Apparently when my Dad was in the army, before and during WW2, he played the sax in a dance band. My mother wasn't impressed when he sold the sax in order to buy a violin, as he fancied learning to play one for a complete change. I remember him playing the violin for me, and encouraging me to try using the bow....I doubt the neighbours were very happy with my efforts though! Mind you, I was only about five so it was far too big for me :D

    Pyxis That's really ingenious :T

That is true, final year of the recorder she started on the treble and it was a lot less painful - not sure I would go much further than that though. IN September DS will start recorder and he is a typical not that tuneful but likes it loud boy - I am cringing even just contemplating it....

Edit - he is quite large for his age - I wonder if there is any reason he couldn't just start on the treble....

A sure way to get your father out of bed in the morning: "Listen, Daddy, I can nearly play my recorder!"

I can play descant and treble, but haven't got around to buying a tenor so far.

It's OK, it's arrived here now - nice sunshine, fluffy white clouds and a pleasant breeze.

Not really; I'd have to Google to even find out where that is :)

How many "2nd" homes do you have?

    Nit-Picker Alert!

    (Did I ever [STRIKE]warn[/STRIKE] tell you that I'm a dreadful nit-picker? :D
I could nit-pick for England in the Nit-Picker Olympics and win gold!)

Can you have more than one second home?
Would it not, strictly speaking, be a third home, then a fourth home, etc?

    Ok, ok, I'm going......................

    Sighs!

This was a holiday, staying in a hotel, flying on British Airways courtesy of Avios (airmiles). No new homes involved.

The alphabetties never ceased to amaze me with their image inventiveness. Nice one Pyx!
