It has been doing the rounds this week. Only read the top bit, pretty much every site I've found has the solution at the bottom. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm posting this for Gen. I thought he'd find it interesting (if he hasn't seen it already). It's a bit about bitcoin and blockchain and its interest to banks. I know he is interested in disruptive technologies, so thought this might be up his street:

I have another simple rule .... don't go outside of England. If people are outside of England and you can't easily spot them coming straight back ... forget 'em0 -

Cheers viva, actually I hadn't seen that.
I have some pretty grave doubts about blockchain, most specifically about how to unwind fraudulent transactions. Proponents keep telling me that isn't a problem but TBH I think it's an insurmountable one.
If you can't explain why it's not a problem to someone that spent over 15 years in banking and 2 decades in finance without resorting to jargon then I think it's an unresolved (unsolvable?) problem.0 -

I think I've worked that one out.
1884 born.
1907 married.
But there's another fella with his name baptised in 1907 - so watch I don't get those to mixed up.
Find his possible parents and all his siblings... track that lot.
Spot his father died 1881-1891.
Realise .... it probably was him being baptised in 1907, as an adult, in order to get married that year .... and he'd not been baptised like all the others (1881 and 1884) as they were using a Circuit Baptism ... and I bet his father died and his mother never got round to it.
So, now armed with my "guessed knowledge" that only ONE man existed with his name, I don't have to "watch out for the 2nd fella with the same name" at all, it's him!
Not sure why he bothered to get baptised though as his gf was up the duff and they were marrying in her town/county 100 miles away, before going to live in Swansea (200 miles away).
They then returned back to his home turf 5 years later with 2 kids in tow.
And the kid born in 1907 .... is still alive today.
Blooming heck, PN! That's a bit of an achievement. Our friend's relative is the oldest person in a western country but we've no relatives ourselves who've got past 100. Yet.;)
There's a video here from about a century ago and someone pointed out that most of the people in it wouldn't be alive now. But your relative would be if they were a year or two older. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I have been reading a book called the Dark Net which touches on bitcoin and blockchain. It's specifically about the illegal web, but does raise some interesting questions. Next up there's a new book on bitcoin out, I thought I'd read that. I don't really understand it enough... so this is my attempt to know more.
Here's some links if anyone is interested. The first is really interesting, not sure about second, haven't started it:

Good for you, so do I
I've read a fair bit of stuff on Bitcoin and the blockchain. TBH the whole thing about private fiat money brings Gresham's Law to mind (that's the first economic law: bad money drives out good).0
