They don't seem to do house call outs. You have to get the car to them.
They are 3, 5, 9 miles from me.
Battery, fully fitted, comes in at £85-170 for my car.
I'm house-missing for a friend from work atm. Part of my role involves charging the car battery... Friend has a charger from Halfords. Likes relatively easy to operate. Would guess it must be cheaper than a new battery?0 -
Our car battery is normally that much but then it could take 1 of 3 one of which was on special at 37.50 plus a code plus quidco plus 3 quid for old one came to less than 30 and fitting is really not hard but you may need a socket set....and you will need the radio code, do you have it?I think....0

Happy birthday Wheezy! Hope you're having a lovely day :beer:0

I paid Halfords £10 to fit the battery on my old car. Worth every penny. They are pretty good for small jobs. I get them to change my car lightbulbs too. DH despairs at me and says I ought to be able to do this myself, but why when I can drive it to someone who will do it better, quicker, and for a tenner or less. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? EDIT: Having seen the price of batteries..... I'm going to comfort eat now. 2nd bowl of chilli coming up
I have been comfort eating and not walking for the last fortnight. Today I shook my feathers, gave myself a good talking to and went for a walk, also ate sensibly. This evening I was invited to a neighbours for a drink and nibbles. She had cooked supper. Aaargh. The neighbour is eighty and awaiting knee and hip surgery. She had gone to a lot of trouble. I ate well. It would have been impolite not to.0 -
Belated Happy Birthday Wheezy!
Hope you had a super day with lots of fun and good food and drink.0 -

Youngest's statement review yesterday, he is doing well, much better than anyone expected and because he is finding level 3 so easy (he is still waiting for the huge step up everyone warned him about between level 2 and 3) and running out of work before they start the next unit, he has been offered the chance to do an extended project.
For the first time ever during his education, it was assumed he would be going to uni, it has always been my hope and in the last few years, my assumption, a view not shared by those teaching him but yesterday instead of asking what his plans are post college, he was asked which uni he was planning on going to as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
I didn't know whether to cry because it was finally realised by others instead of just me that he could do it or yell and whoop in happiness that he had finally got there.
Been a long hard road and not a usual one for him, he only went full time at school just before he started high school and even then, he had to miss large parts of his education because of his disabilties/illnesses, so to finally reach this point is an absolutely amazing feeling. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
