Me either.
I do know that in the hot weather here you get really sweaty when you mow the lawn. Oh yeah, and you're meant to leave the clippings on the lawn as a mulch when it's really hot.0 -
I think GBD claimed the largest number of offspring in previous conversations...5 I think.
I have a whatsapp group with some girlfriends and some of the girls' daughters have created a mini-me whatsapp group that supposedly apes the rubbish we talk about.
Maybe in years to come the offspring of the nice people will chatter away in a different forum.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Frost and grass.... didn't know that.
Me neither, other than if its cold the grass isn't growing so not much point cutting it. Is it more of a concern that the wet grass won't do much good to the motor blades?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Different BG engineer. Different opinion. Reckons the thermostat is fine. Thinks a valve isn't springy enough, so is going to change that instead.
Boiler of course knew that BG man was coming so is still behaving.
Engineer thinks that it is working well, other than that.
Maybe we won't change the boiler this year!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Got the week off work and the sun is shining in Manchester. Unfortunately can't go out atm as there is a problem with the front door lock
Locksmith called. I've just googled it and I could easily replace the cylinder, which I think would fix it. Never mind!

We have a green bin that we can put the clippings in and I do in the winter. In the summer I leave them to lie because otherwise you use loads of water and that is a very bad thing. Firstly it costs a fortune ($1.50ish per kilo litre or 1.35p per gallon) and secondly there ain't much of it here sometimes.
Heck, I've got fifty quids-worth of water sitting in my swimming pool!0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »I can sign up for a garden waste collection, but that's about £60/year for the months it operates. It's only really economical for people with big gardens, who live several miles from the tip.
For my 4 cuts/year it'd work out at £15/time.
So I have to have 2-3 dry days while I think about it. Then cut it on a dry day that's not windy, when I fancy immediately driving the clippings to the tip (under 1 mile) to get rid of them.
We have green bins that are emptied for free.
People with big gardens often have gardeners, who take the rubbish away with them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. What I like most about this site is the 'Mini Statistics' that show when you click on a username/view public profile (like mine for example).0

Yeah.
That's also very important yes.
But I meant clicking on a user name (like mine for example) and viewing the mini statistics under the public profile.
