    What's happening then?

Liverpool football club beating VillaReal on another great European night.

    3 great nights
    - Man U
    - Dortmund
    - VillaReal

A choir sang You'll Never Walk Alone for the 96 and the crowd singing was just deafening...never heard it as loud.

You heavily over-rate most of the population. Most people that voted today, especially the ones that had local elections, won't have even gone as far as reading the lovely link provided to us by our fellow NP.

They'll have blindly wandered in and voted the way they voted in the locals, which is usually the way they vote in the general election.

I feel quite passionately that very local politics shouldn't be party political, but based on passion for the unique local issues that areas face.

I agree with this, but I voted having read all the blurb. I very rarely vote for the same party twice in a row. I go with whatever appear to be the lies I like most at the time as there's always a slim chance that someone might actually keep to their promises.

How do I become a police and crime commissioner? It sounds wonderful - 'I sacked the chief constable on Monday because he was having an affair, sacked his replacement on Tuesday because he was also having an affair. Now I'm looking for a replacement with the balls to keep a police force under control but no balls.'
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

PastureNew, I'm pretty sure you're right.

However, just as decomposition in bodies can be slowed or almost halted in some conditions, (temperature, humidity levels, type of soil etc.), I am wondering if there might be some condition that might slow decomposition in the water too, and that same condition might also reduce the number of scavengers who might nibble on the corpse.

Dunno. Have googled a bit, but nothing obvious other than low water temperature.

Localised water pollution from an industrial outflow, perhaps?

    Just a thought.

Two weeks later she was found still floating in the water, having not sunk.

I thought witches floated and everyone else sunk? The nun must have been a witch.

Perhaps air pockets in her voluminous habit kept her afloat?

In my reading/research, I discovered somebody's humorous take on religion etc:

Dig up a body long after it's been buried and it's still immaculate:
    Western religion: it's a SAINT!
    Eastern religion: it's a VAMPIRE!

    :)
