Not having a good day, sick and tired of waiting for my brother to do my gardens and struggling to get down my front path due to the overgrown lavender, rosemary and curry plant hedge, I borrowed mum and dad's hedge trimmer.

I've only gone and cut through the bloody cable haven't I!

So the end result of my endeavours this morning is a bill to replace the hedge trimmer, exhaustion and an even more knackered back from trying to do it myself.

Note to self - purchase my own cordless version, crutches, exhaustion and spasms do not work well with cables and at least with cordless, the charge generally runs out before I overdo things!

    Oh dear. :(

I know! Send the bill to your brother! :D:D

(And looking on the bright side, at least you know the safety cut-out works!)

One tip I heard was to pop the cable over your shoulder, so it's not trailing around.

Oh thank you, that's kind. I'm not on Twitter. His name is Doro Oddiri. He's standing in "Erith & Thamesmead", and the leaflets were being delivered in "Bexleyheath & Crayford".

I'm really surprised though that the person delivering them (or possibly, the person who told her to deliver them in this area) didn't realise it wasn't in the right constituency, as we're well outside the boundary!

Tweet send, will (after I've typed this) end you a link to it via PM.

Some of his policies seem ok where others seem a little nonsensical. The 'ok' ones include one I don't personally agree with. I know he's dealing with tight character limits, however his spelling is atrocious too.

That's it then. I'd never vote for him!. :rotfl:
I bet he used an apostrophe in the wrong place, too? :D:D

    Bit late now ;)

Another one is to always work away from the power source, so the cable trails over the bit that's been done rather than over the bit you're about to do - works for me with the 'leccy lawnmower.

Our lawn is long and narrow and the plug socket is in the house so working away from the socket would involve lots of turns and unusual side to side stripes.

DW managed to cut the cord on our hedge trimmer the first time she used it, I had to buy an outdoor suitable wire joiner thang to repair it as the cord would have been very short if I had just removed the cut off end.
    I think....

Sorry, someone I'd given a quote called me, I was half way through it when that happened :)

I hope so too, he's not been on Twitter since May 10th though.

Suggesting Sue that you (and my DW) are far from a small minority.

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea...would be good if it could be fixed as it is one outlay I could do without at the moment. Still feel awful though as I've damaged someone else property and I hate that.

And me and gardens have never ever got on, both siblings have green fingers (one is a qualified horticulturist and landscape gardner, the other a qualified florist!) and I think they got my quota too as I am hopeless in a garden.

Sue, this happens all the time, and it's very easy to fit. You need one of these.

Just remember to wire the pin part to the hedge trimmer end of the cable, and the socket to the mains end.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
