Music festival was good....festival makes it sound really grand or big, it was in fact the local social club's beer festival (£5 entry for that, I was on orange squash so didn't take part in that bit) with music in the field outside for free.

Just local bands, no big names but very well attended indeed, queues for the loo (real ones, not portaloos), the bar, the BBQ and the ice cream van were, as is normal at these events, horrendous.

I suppose it shows how semi rural this village is with the local social club having huge fields as part of their property at the back instead of being squished in on the high street amongst shops....this is our version of a high street!

It sounds really nice actually :)

Glad your relative is a bit better CK.

Just doing a load of washing which I originally planned to hang on the line, but it doesn't look as if it'll get dry if I do that, so the dryer it'll have to be.

Just had a leaflet through the door in support of an independent candidate He sounds quite impressive; unfortunately he's standing in the next-door constituency, not this one.....Oops!

I do hope his leaflets will also be received by people who are actually in a position to vote for him should they wish to!

Either send him a tweet or let me know who he is and I'll do it for you :)

I'm in favour of more independents being elected so would like him to be aware out of principal.

Glad your relative isn't too bad!

There was an Independent standing in my constituency, and I did toy with the idea of voting for him.

He was one of the candidates I had a lot of trouble finding information about. Eventually I did find a bit, and he has only about four issues, things to do with his job et al, and is very young indeed, so after dithering a bit I decided not to, but I wish him well and shall watch that space! :)

Oh thank you, that's kind. I'm not on Twitter. His name is Doro Oddiri. He's standing in "Erith & Thamesmead", and the leaflets were being delivered in "Bexleyheath & Crayford".

I'm really surprised though that the person delivering them (or possibly, the person who told her to deliver them in this area) didn't realise it wasn't in the right constituency, as we're well outside the boundary!

Not having a good day, sick and tired of waiting for my brother to do my gardens and struggling to get down my front path due to the overgrown lavender, rosemary and curry plant hedge, I borrowed mum and dad's hedge trimmer.

I've only gone and cut through the bloody cable haven't I!

So the end result of my endeavours this morning is a bill to replace the hedge trimmer, exhaustion and an even more knackered back from trying to do it myself.

Note to self - purchase my own cordless version, crutches, exhaustion and spasms do not work well with cables and at least with cordless, the charge generally runs out before I overdo things!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh Sue! How frustrating. Gardening really doesn't seem like a good thing for you to be doing. Sending hugs.

Does the hedge trimmer really need replacing? Might it be possible to fit it with a new cable instead?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea...would be good if it could be fixed as it is one outlay I could do without at the moment. Still feel awful though as I've damaged someone else property and I hate that.

And me and gardens have never ever got on, both siblings have green fingers (one is a qualified horticulturist and landscape gardner, the other a qualified florist!) and I think they got my quota too as I am hopeless in a garden.

A while ago I had a vacuum cleaner whose cable got damaged, and although I wasn't able to fit a new cable myself, I did take it to a repair shop that fitted a replacement cable for a fraction of the price of a new appliance. I hope you can do something similar.
