Yesterday was Reading, today was Harpenden, tomorrow is Reigate, next Tuesday is Bourne End....James is certainly piling in the interviews now!
For me, it says he isn't coming home. Not sure how I feel about that to be honest, I'm chuffed he is moving on with his life and going out in the big wide world for real but on the other hand, it means that come September there will be only me in my small 3 bed house with no one to take the bins out (I can't do it myself) or do all the other stuff I need help with now.
In other news, Joe has to go for more tests in a day unit. They think he might have an inherited auto immune disorder which has been masked by the steroids for his asthma but is becoming more visible now that his medication has changed slightly...Joe's response? "Why is it always me" as out of all the boys, he is the one who has had a history of adding another problem/disorder/illness every year although he has had a quiet last couple of years. Thing is, if he does have this auto immune thing, it's probably why he has had that record and would explain an awful lot of things! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

You want wasps to be attracted to doofers!
(
I thnk Viz's top tips once suggested that jam made a good cheap hair gel, but beware of wasps in the summer.;)

.... no one to take the bins out ...
I've some lazy man's top tips for that....
Maintain two "bins" in the house. It's just you so you won't be using much. There's "wet/yuck" and there's dry.
Wet/yuck gets stored in old margarine tubs, or wrapped immediately into empty bread bags, or cheese wrappers... in short, plastic wrappings from food. In the main, wet/yuck can tend to be TINY.
For all other "non degrading, non smelling" items, you can just keep filling your bin up and only put it out once every couple of months, or when somebody handy is around.
For the wet/yuck - each time you do leave the house, take your tiny/small bag or container of yuck and drop it into a public bin... a bit like doggy poo bags
Job done.
One person really doesn't generate much rubbish at all... and you're totally in control of all the waste management, so it's up to you how you store/dispose of things and nobody to muck up the system.0 -
Sue, would one of your neighbours be willing to oblige?
Or could you keep your bins in the front so they haven't got far to go?(I just lurve spiders!)

Re the bins. Where I live some of the houses have an assisted bin collection, so the binmen do a little bit of extra work to retrieve them. Generally it works very well. Perhaps the council will be able to do something similar. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

My council has a page on their website just for that. MIL had it. I expect all councils have something very similar, as they have an obligation to collect the waste.

We have a small waste bin that's easier for us wrinklies to manage. I'm not sure how we ended up with it, as we also have a couple of normal sized ones.
I don't know what assistance is available officially for all the other stuff that people might need help with? I'm not sure what Big Society is supposed to be about, but it ought to include that!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
